4 Stars!

This is Deacon aka Gentry and Tempest’s story. It was definitely a quick and easy read that had a lot of sweet and a bit of sexy mixed in with the action and suspense.

Deacon and the rest of his brothers are back in town and he is heading to Tempest at Haven’s Harbor. Deacon knows things are changing for all the men as they are finding women to share their lives with and he’s not sure what this means for him. The one thing he’s sure about though is that Tempest is a balm to his soul. When he discovers she’s kept a pretty big part of her life secret, Deacon is floored. However, with the truth out in the open, he now realizes he wants more than just a passing fling when he comes into town.

This one was quite easy to read and went fairly quickly. I was sucked in right away from the intensity of the prologue and Gentry’s memories of his missions in the SEALs. It gave a completely different perspective to his character. I liked him a whole lot more after seeing things from his POV and finding out more of his background.

Tempest was a pretty great character as well. I like that she brings something different to the table as far as her running a Shelter/Safe House. It shows her strength and compassion. She fits pretty smoothly with Deacon’s protective personality.

As always, though, Trapper still is the one to have me simultaneously crying and laughing. He’s crazy and fierce but it’s very obvious it’s a defense mechanism and he’s covering up something pretty dark. I can’t wait for his story. Thank goodness it’s next.
