He pulled away when Ethan opened his mouth to take him in.
"Show me you want it," Max murmured. "Find it."
Ethan's nostrils flared as he tried to locate Max by scent. The sight of him extending his tongue, as if tasting the air for Max, was alluring and erotic. Max vowed to repeat this exact scene between them in the future, when it was just the two of them. Maybe he would make Ethan crawl after him, guided only by the scent of Max's arousal.
When Ethan finally found him, he let out a little sigh of pleasure and rubbed his cheek along Max's stiff length. That he worshipped Max's cock was evident, but he expressed more than that when he leaned closer and pressed a tender kiss to Max's skin, just above his pubic hair.
"I love you, sir," he whispered.
Max combed his fingers through Ethan's hair. He didn't care that Gordy could hear him as he said, "I love you, too."
A sound from Gordy. Max didn't turn to look at him, but it broke the spell that had begun to form. Do this and get it over with. With a hand on Ethan's jaw, stilling him, Max pushed into the hot, wet cavern of his mouth.
"Finally," Gordy said with a slow clap. "Knew you'd get into him eventually." His smile for Max wasn't friendly. "You're losing your touch." He consulted his U-Boat watch. "Back in the old days you would have had him begging ten minutes ago. Rusty? Or is he that tough to break?"
"Even though it is indeed quicker and more efficient to drive straight to your destination, a winding road provides a far more enjoyable experience for both driver and passenger," Max said with a touch of condescension. "Speed is a game for novices."
Gordy only stared at him, anger glittering in his eyes.

After declaring his love life officially dead, Rich wonders if maybe he should stick with his shifter book boyfriends instead. It’s not as if he has much free time to date anyway. Between working long hours at a coffee shop, guarding his sodas from his hygienically challenged roommates, and running the programming at the Vegas LGBTQ teen shelter he founded – how could there ever be space for love in his life?

Diego Espinoza enjoys taking his downtime from working Search and Rescue, at the Lucky Cup coffee shop. He can set up his laptop, peruse good sport climbing spots and observe the blond barista he’s been pining over for a while. He imagines that the pretty boy has more offers than he knows what to do with, so it takes Diego time to work up the nerve to approach him.

Rich isn’t so sure about the rough looking Diego – even if he’s always thought he was hot – but once he decides to gives Diego a chance, there’s an immediate heat and connection that takes him by surprise. As they learn more about each other and try to find the way to a future together, strange and scary things start to happen.

Finally, Rich spoke. “So when you said you weren’t busy, did you mean not so busy that I couldn’t sit here with you and chat? Or did you mean, not busy at all, have nothing to do the rest of the day not busy?”
Diego took a moment to make certain he’d sorted out exactly what Rich had just said. “I’m not busy at all, Rich. Why?”
Rich chewed at the side of his lip as he considered him. Some sort of inner battle was being waged and Diego was dying to find out which side won, and whether or not he’d benefit from it.
“How’d you like to go see a cheesy movie, eat a lot of popcorn and candy, then eat something even less healthy at a greasy burger joint after that?”
Diego never would’ve guessed such a thing would’ve popped out of Rich’s mouth. But he decided to go with it. “Lots of butter on the popcorn?”
Rich let out an even easier laugh. That was what Diego wanted to hear.
“Of course. What would be the point otherwise?”
Can I lick it off your fingers? “Then I think it sounds like a great idea.”
“Awesome. Let’s go.”
Rich shot to his feet, his eyes eager, a wide grin on his face. At Diego’s hesitation, his expression lost some of its carefree joy. It wasn’t that Diego was hesitant, it fell more under the surprised category.
“I’m sorry. I’m being pushy, aren’t I? You don’t have to-“
Diego stood. “I thought you promised me popcorn?” He went about gathering his things, putting his laptop away. “Any ideas what sort of flick you wanna see?”
The wide grin returned. “There’s a really crass one about three guys and a snarky talking pony.”
Diego arched an eyebrow. Rich continued.
“And then there’s the one with all those action heroes that’s supposed to be a sort of comedy, but mainly it’s car chases, explosions and hunky guys.”
Diego grunted. “As much as I love a good, rude talking pony movie, I’ll go for the action one.”
“Sweet.”
Rich held out his arm to him and Diego’s knees went a tad wobbly. He hadn’t realized that such a thing was even possible. He slung his computer bag over his shoulder then wrapped his hand around Rich’s elbow. It occurred to him that he’d never held a man’s hand or linked arms or anything of that sort in public before. Wasn’t his thing. Yet he couldn’t help but be thrilled he was doing it with Rich.
Staking my claim.
He wasn’t ‘that guy’. The one who pissed on trees to remind the other men what was his. As he followed Rich out of the coffee shop, he still didn’t believe he was that sort of overbearing macho jerk. But a thread of possession had hit his gut when Rich had said yes to going out with him. He fucking wanted the guy so bad it hurt, and even scarier than that, he knew it wasn’t just in his bed.

“There,” Edgar said. “Don’t move or you’ll bleed all over my fucking couch. It’s not even a month old.”
Simon almost smiled. Edgar always got grouchy when he was worried. If he really cared about the couch, he wouldn’t have settled Simon there. Even with a towel under him, he’d likely ruin the upholstery when Edgar pulled the bullet out. Just one more thing he’d owe Edgar.
Edgar laid a hand on Simon’s forehead. “You’ve lost a lot of blood. You’re dehydrated and likely running a fever. I really wish we could do this at my office.”
“Just fucking take care of it. That is what I came here for.” Nothing pissed Simon off more than realizing how vulnerable he was. Edgar was right. He was in bad shape. He wouldn’t have made it much farther without passing out.
“It’s nice to see you too, Si.”
“Goddammit, Edgar. They had me locked up for days, and I…” Panic hovered, threatening to overtake him. With the last of his strength, he pushed it away and sank deeper into the couch cushions, utterly exhausted.

The silence got to him after a few seconds. He managed to lift his eyelids, but even that movement was a strain. Edgar was studying him, pain and confusion in his hazel eyes. Why did Simon keep hurting this man when all he wanted to do was love him?

He glanced up and went to wipe the steam from the mirror, but stopped. Ryde still, no doubt, lingered in the bedroom so he couldn’t scream like he wanted to. He took his finger and wrote in cursive I will not love Ryder Halloway again. Juvenile? Yeah, but seeing it in writing fortified him. He watched as the steam cleared from the mirror, and his message went with it. Gone, but never forgotten.

Realizing his clothes were, of course, in his bedroom, he reopened the door. Yep, there Ryde still leaned against the doorjamb. Steadying himself, Harlan walked across the room. “I have to get dressed, so you can go wait for me in the kitchen.”

Ryde straightened up and started walking toward him. Harlan backed up until his legs hit the bed, and he sat with a plunk. Ryde smiled. “Gotta use the bathroom, out in three minutes. Think you can dress that quickly or are you gonna give me a peep show?” Ryde cocked his eyebrow in what Harlan could only assume was humor, and he went through the door.

Harlan rushed to get dressed within his time limit, forgoing his boxer briefs to save precious seconds. He pulled his sweater over his head and heard a crash from the bathroom. He ran over and threw the door open to see Ryde standing in front of the sink with soapy hands, staring at his reflection.

“What the fu—” He followed Ryde’s gaze to the mirror and saw what had happened. The steam from Ryde’s hand-washing had brought his message back, front and center for the world to see, or more importantly for Ryde to see. His jaw dropped. Could the morning get any worse? He met Ryde’s gaze in the mirror and nearly lost his last trace of sanity when Ryde gifted him with a cocky half grin. “It’s not what you think.”

Ryde shook his head and laughed. “Har, my dream, I don’t know if you just made my job here easier or harder. But I do love a challenge.”

Mari's Review:

*ARC provided by Pride Promotions in exchange for a fair and honest review.*

This is a very enjoyable trilogy. I absolutely adored that all the stories were interlocked somehow and that the characters from the previous stories featured in the rest of them as we advanced before tying it all up.

Harlan's Ryde is the story that starts it all. Ryder makes a huge mistake seven years before, which sent Harlan into running away from him, when Ryder finally manages to track him down, he's set on making things right between them, but first he has to convince Harlan and that won't be an easy feat after the way they ended things.

I loved Ryder. Yes, he made a huge mistake, and yes, he should've realized beforehand that his actions would have dire consequences, but he was young and wanted to guard his heart. Once he realized the error in his ways, he tried to make it right, but had to wait seven years for that to happen.

Harlan, on the other hand, was a bit stubborn about accepting Ryder's apology, even after all the explanations and there were times when I just wanted to shake him up a bit. Still, he more than made up for it and  I really enjoyed their story and loved seeing more of them in the next installments.

Emery's Ritches, the second story was the one I enjoyed the least of the three, mostly because, while I loved Emery, I can't say the same about Ritch.

Ritchie was in love with Harlan and was his best friend, and hated Ryder with a passion. I didn't particularly cared for him all that much, and couldn't connect with him as a character. I loved Emery, though, and all his machinations as he tried to get Ritchie to love him back.

Geoff's Teddy was my favorite of the three stories. Both Geoff and Fuzzy were so likeable and relatable and perfect for each other! It was lovely to see their friendship just bloom into something more and the way they both dealt with the fact that Fuzzy was supposed to be straight. It was fun, sweet and hot with just a dab of angst and it brought it all up to a very nice conclusion.

Rating: 4.5 Stars!
