Vacationing at a gay resort is risky business for Winter Media’s CEO, Graham Winters. In negotiations for the purchase of an anti-LGBTQ publication, if found out he preferred men, the deal would collapse, along with Winter Media’s bottom line. But take a risk, Graham does. He can’t pass up two weeks where he can be himself.

But when Graham arrives at Secretus, there is no record of his reservation. Never one to take no for an answer, he coerces the owner of Secretus, Chris Katsaros, to let him stay in Chris’s home.

Winter Media owns one of the worst gossip rags in the country, so Chris has no choice but to agree to Graham’s terms. Chris keeps a low profile when it comes to Secretus, securing a safe environment where high profile gays can relax without media hounding their every move. An introvert by nature, Chris has a difficult time letting anyone into his life. As a foster kid, he had never experienced love until adopted by Pete and Bob.

Forced to entertain Graham, Chris finds they have more in common than he ever thought. The attraction between them is real, and Chris’s guarded heart begins to thaw.

When psychic Nate Coleman dreams of a murder, he knows it’s a premonition. He can’t forget the image of his ex-lover with a bullet hole through his chest. Nate has no choice but to confront Will and face the skeptical scientist’s ridicule.
Dr. William Ryner doesn’t believe in what he can’t prove. When Nate comes back into his life, it’s not to rekindle their love, but to bring up more of that mumbo jumbo that split them apart.
Despite Will’s refusal to listen, Nate can’t ignore the premonition. And, Will can’t ignore Nate. Before the gunman strikes, Will must either trust in Nate’s ability or rely only on the facts, but if he does the latter, pride could be the death of him.
NOTE: This story is a do-over, and has almost tripled in size! This book was previously published but has been revised and edited in this edition.

Excerpt:
Nate woke with a start, his heart pounding. He reached for the water glass on the nightstand and almost dropped it. Rarely did he dream of death, but when he did, he took notice. That it was Will he’d seen in his nightmare made it more complicated.
No matter. Nate had a responsibility to explore the possibility that this was a precognitive dream. Beyond that, he didn’t want to think about the consequences of taking action.
Nate grabbed his sketchbook from his nightstand. He picked up a charcoal pencil and sketched the dream images before they vanished from his mind—the gunman had worn an orange baseball cap and dark hoodie. Nate recognized the oval-shaped plaza with its pruned elm trees and classical bandstand. Will and Nate used to jog the trails throughout Golden Gate Park, and Spreckels Temple of Music had been one of their favorite places to see a concert.
There would be no reason for Will to be on a stage, especially a bandstand in San Francisco. He had moved after their breakup and now lived in London. Yet Nate couldn’t shake off the sense of dread. Maybe he had substituted Spreckels for a place in London? Sometimes his dreams were hard to interpret. Images were often metaphors.
But this nightmare… Shit. The man with the gun could be a metaphor for himself. He did own an orange baseball cap stuffed away in the back of his closet.
No. No way was Nate the shadowy figure. Sure, at first he’d wanted retribution, for Will to suffer as much as Nate had. The hurt and anger burned for months. Then one summer morning, he had awakened with a feeling of peace. The ache in his chest had lessened. From that day forward, he’d wiped Will from his memory and gotten on with his life.
Nate finished his drawings and tossed the sketchbook and pencil on the floor.
Next to him, Lulu napped on a pillow. Nate snuggled the furry body to his chest. The cat’s warmth eased his anxiety.
Lulu meowed at being disturbed as she sprawled into Nate’s arms. He’d taken in the ginger kitten when he found her on his stoop. A bowl of milk a day had convinced her to become his constant companion.
He scratched the underside of Lulu’s chin. “What should I do? He doesn’t live here. And even if I did find his number, he’d laugh me off the phone.”
Lulu tilted her heart-shaped head and blinked those expressive green eyes as if to say Nate was crazy to even consider calling his ex-boyfriend.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re right. I’d be insane to open myself to his ridicule.”
Will, a scientist through and through, would never listen to Nate’s warning. Will only believed in what he could prove in a laboratory.

Mari's Review:
*** ARC provided to Bayou Book Junkie in exchange for a fair and honest review. ***

Nate is a psychic and he's been having dreams that his ex is going to be killed during a rally in San Francisco, only that shouldn't be possible, since Will (his ex) moved to London when they broke up. When Nate finds out that Will is back in San Francisco, he has to warn him, despite Will thinking Nate's psychic abilities are nothing more than a hoax. When they see each other again they realize the love between them never died, but is Will ready to accept what Nate is and have a future with him? And what about the nightmares, would they turn true or not?

I loved the story! It was fast-paced and full of twists, I loved that even if it's a short book, it contained everything you needed to actually care for both Nate and Will (although I did want to slap Will a couple of times). They both had great chemistry and the supporting characters were intriguing, with a very interesting storyline. There was enough background information interspersed throughout the book that you could understand what had gone wrong the first time around and although I was satisfied with the ending, I wouldn't mind reading more of them in the future! Very recommendable!

Rating: 5 Stars!!!

Character Interview with Nate Coleman
:
1. What is the best gift you ever gave?

I gave my grandmother a painting that I made when I was 12 years old. It wasn’t very good. An abstract landscape with garish colors and bright patterns. We were studying Fauvism in school. She hung it in her living room and bragged to all her friends that I painted it for her. I loved that about her. She was always supportive. She taught me to be proud of who I was and not ashamed of my gifts.

2. What was your favorite subject in school?

Art

3. What is the last thing you tell your partner before bed

I never fail to tell Will that I love him. If we had a fight, we talk it out before we go to bed.

4. What is your motto?

Don’t sweat the small stuff.

5. What is your biggest strength?

I learn from my mistakes.

It’s been years since Leo slipped out of Andre’s life in the middle of the night, but he's never forgotten their passionate love of music and each other.

Not sure what he wants from Leo, he knows what his body wants right now. A night of passionate sex leads to another, until he’s lost his heart to Leo again.

When Andre finds his trust in Leo tested, Leo must prove his loyalty by using their one common passion – music – to bind their hearts.

Excerpt:
Leo finished his cappuccino. He needed a break. From the band, roadies, everything related to his present life. He tried to ignore the constriction in his chest. He hadn’t written anything in months, and that scared the shit out of him. His bandmates were like his brothers, but as much as he loved them, it wasn’t the same as having a lover who completely got him. He had no one to turn to when in a funk.

He hoped to God he still had more words inside him. For all of his flamboyance on stage, his real love was composing.

Leo paid the check and left. Too wound up to go back to his hotel, he roamed the streets, taking in the Vienna night. Stars sparkled above St. Stephen’s gothic spire. The wide boulevards twisted into narrow lanes perfect for getting lost in.

Happy to wander aimlessly, Leo slipped his hands into his fleece-lined jacket. Living in LA, he’d forgotten how cold winter could be in other parts of the world. He turned the corner and sputtered to a halt. Staring at the poster pasted to the side of a building, he didn’t need to read the name of the virtuoso to know who it was. He could never forget that face in rapture—when playing or getting off. Music and sex had invoked the same feelings in Andre Revele. Passion was passion, and that man had always had both in spades.

Numbness swept across Leo as he stared at the picture of Andre caressing the bow in those slender-fingered hands—such artistic hands on a large man. It had been love at first sight—or at least lust—when Leo had walked into the practice room.

He could still remember a youthful Andre, not quite grown into his robust physique, as he played the last stanza of Bach’s Concerto in E. The violin’s notes had faded, but the music had remained in the air long after the performance was over. Bright green eyes peered through dark lashes, and sensual, pouty lips morphed into a shy smile. Like an idiot, Leo had been at a loss for words at Andre’s performance and enamored by that handsome face. Until Andre laughed, breaking the spell.

From that day forward, they were inseparable. They both had insatiable appetites for music. They stayed up all hours talking about philosophy and musical composition, and arguing what was better, thin-crust or thick-crust pizza. They played music together, fucked, and enjoyed the simple moments that composed their insular world.

He scanned the poster for the dates of the concerts. Tomorrow night was the last performance. Leo shuffled his feet, unable to move away. He bit his lip and traced the image of Andre. Did he dare go? It had to be fate. He’d been thinking of Andre, talking about the past with Sid, and now this.

His heartbeat quickened. What if he went backstage and Andre didn’t recognize him? Or brushed him aside? Leo had purposely avoided searching the Internet for news of Andre, too afraid that his ex had a lover, or worse, had married. Their lifestyles were miles apart, and Leo could never think of Andre as a friend.

He drank in Andre’s image. Tall and broodingly dark, Andre had the body of a jock and the sensitive heart of an artist. Leo preferred men unlike himself. He’d been a skinny kid, and had a difficult time gaining weight. If he’d been born years earlier, he would have been the perfect face for a glam rock band. At least he’d outgrown the term pretty boy or twink.

Leo chewed his lower lip as he studied Andre’s picture. Tempting as it was to see his ex again, visiting the past was a bad idea. This wasn’t the time, not when Leo was restless and bored. His heart couldn’t take a rejection from Andre. There were other men, lots of men, and he’d had his share of quite a few of them. With his schedule it had become impossible to form any long-term commitment. Or at least that was what he told himself.

A big, fat lie.

He’d never met anyone who made him feel the way he’d felt for the violinist.

Leo kissed his fingers and pressed them to Andre’s lips. “Good-bye, Princess.” Andre hated that pet name, but Leo loved using the endearment. Andre had been born into wealth and privilege, and his family had expected great things from him. “You proved them right, didn’t you?”

Before Leo changed his mind, he hurried away, dismissing the memories of a love lost to his ambition.

Author Guest Post:

Leo and Andre live and breathe music. While Leo left the piano and classical world behind to form a rock n’ roll band, Andre stayed committed to his violin and classical training. Andre admits to listening to classical music for the most part. (Leo’s band an exception!) His playlist includes classics from some of the world’s most famous virtuosos.

I have included YouTube links to some of the songs. Enjoy!

Joshua Bell - Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E minor

The bio from Joshua Bell’s website states that he is one of the most famous violinists of his generation. He has many musical interests beyond classical that he brings to his playing. (And he is cute to boot!)

Pinchas Zukerman - Ludwig van Beethoven - Violin Sonata №9

Zukerman was a protégé, and began playing the recorder at the tender young age of four. Then he was taught the clarinet. It wasn’t until he was eight years old that he started on the violin.

This video is absolutely amazing. The piano accompanies the violin. This is a prefect setup for Leo and Andre!

Itzhak Perlman - Sarasate Zigeunerweisen‬‬‬

Itzhak Perlman’s personality shines through on this YouTube video. He’s been known for a man with a generous heart and charm, but this isn’t why he’s so good. It’s been said he has technical brilliance and power that are experienced during his concerts.

This video not only showcases his amazing talent but his playful personality.

Janine Janse - Vivaldi: Vier jaargetijden/Quattro Stagioni

The violinist herself says that 'it is the freedom of interpretation and improvisation that you find in Baroque music that I love.’
