It's Mardi Gras, cher, but this year le bon temps kick off with murder…

For generations, the White Monks have treated the vampire Thaddeus Dupont as a weapon in their battle against demons. However, when a prominent matron drops dead at a party, Thaddeus and his lover Sarasija are asked to find her killer. Their investigation leads them to an old southern family with connections everywhere: Louisiana politics, big business, the Church, and an organization just as secret as the White Monks.

Meanwhile, an esoteric text containing spells for demon-summoning has disappeared, Thaddeus is losing control of le monstre, and Sara is troubled by disturbing dreams. These nightmares could be a side-effect of dating a vampire, or they could be a remnant of his brush with evil. As the nights wear on, Sara fears they are a manifestation of something darker – a secret that could destroy his relationship with Thaddeus.

Silent night, holy hell.

Thaddeus and Sarasija are spending the holidays on the bayou, and while the vampire's idea of Christmas cheer doesn't quite match his assistant's, they're working on a compromise. Before they can get the tree trimmed, they're interrupted by the appearance of the feu follet. The ghostly lights appear in the swamp at random and lead even the locals astray.

When the townsfolk link the phenomenon to the return of their most reclusive neighbor, suspicion falls on Thaddeus. These lights aren't bringing glad tidings, and if Thad and Sara can't find their source, the feu follet might herald a holiday tragedy for the whole town.

This holiday novella can be enjoyed alone or as book 1.5 of the Hours of the Night Series. Bonfire takes place the December after the events in Vespers.

Thaddeus Dupont has had over eighty years to forget…

The vampire spends his nights chanting the Liturgy of the Hours and ruthlessly disciplines those unnatural urges he’s vowed never again to indulge. He is at the command of the White Monks, who summon him at will to destroy demons. In return, the monks provide for his sustenance and promise the return of his immortal soul.

Sarasija Mishra’s most compelling job qualification might be his type O blood…

The 22-year-old college grad just moved across the country to work for some recluse he can’t even find on the internet. Sounds sketchy, but the salary is awesome and he can’t afford to be picky.  On arrival he discovers a few details his contract neglected to mention, like the alligator-infested swamp, the demon attacks, and the nature of his employer’s “special diet”. A smart guy would leave, but after one look into Dupont’s mesmerizing eyes, Sarasija can’t seem to walk away. Too bad his boss expected “Sara” to be a girl.

Falling in love is hard at any age…

The vampire can’t fight his hungers forever, especially since Sara’s brought him light, laughter and a very masculine heat. After yielding to temptation, Thaddeus must make a choice.  Killing demons may save his soul, but keeping the faith will cost him his heart.

Vespers is a complete novel with no cliffhanger. It can be enjoyed as a standalone or read as the first book in the Hours of the Night series.

In the heart of Texas...

Liberal Austinite Travis Boyd recycles, shops local, and is partner in a successful green-building company. After his last disastrous relationship, he'll never again date a man who's not out. A little discretion while working for ultra-conservative clients in west Texas is hardly the same as being in the closet. Anyway, the only person he's interested in being indiscreet with is the client's macho son. Not happening, Trav.

Bo Vargas is a cowboy-boot-wearing, meat-eating, truck-driving ode to masculinity. He's not gay. The men he picks up on business trips are just anonymous diversions. Travis isn't anonymous. And there's something about him that makes Bo want to expand his relationship options. Maybe.

When a popular dating app sends Bo and Travis on the same blind date, the night explodes in passion. One night isn't a problem. But what will each man be willing to risk the morning after?

Excerpt

One second, Travis was getting into his car, reminding himself why he was saying no to another date with Bo. The next, he was up against the Jeep with Bo’s tongue down his throat. In that second, instinct and chemistry took over. He wrapped his arms around Bo and kissed him back with everything he had. The great state of Texas narrowed down to the taste of steak and wine and Bo.

All those fantasies about Bo, and nothing had prepared him for the reality of that kiss. Travis tilted his head, allowing better access, and Bo obliged by firming his hold on Travis’s head and exploring every inch of Travis’s mouth with his tongue. Bo’s scent, a heady combination of cologne and raw male, fogged his brain until the touch and taste and smell of this one man was all that existed in the world.

Travis wasn’t sure how long the kiss lasted, only that he was rock hard and weak-kneed by the time Bo released his mouth to nuzzle and nip his way along his jaw to his ear.

Sanity didn’t return until Bo spoke. “Don’t leave, Trav.”

He must have made some sound of protest, because Bo crowded even closer, if that was possible. His tongue made a devastating assault on Travis’s ear that ended with a gentle scrape of teeth along his earlobe.

“Stay with me tonight, cariño.”

Bo accompanied the words with a slow roll of his hips that ground their pelvises together and scrambled every synapse in Travis’s brain. He continued to murmur against Travis’s neck, enticing and cajoling between licks and kisses. “It’s just one night.”

Bo’s hand moved farther down his hip, around his ass, pulling them tight together until they were grinding against each other in the parking lot.

“You see what we do to each other? I’m going to make you feel so fucking good. Come upstairs with me.”

He shouldn’t. He knew there were a million reasons he shouldn’t. He couldn’t think of any of them, couldn’t seem to push Bo away and get into the Jeep.

Instead he wrapped himself tighter around Bo. Let Bo press him hard against the fiberglass, hand under his ass, and take his mouth again.

Just one more kiss.

When Bo finally pulled back, eyes glittering and breathing hard, Travis simply stared up at him.

Bo nodded as if satisfied.

Travis didn’t protest when Bo took the keys from his hand. He didn’t protest when Bo spotted the overnight bag stashed behind the seat and swung the strap over his shoulder, or when Bo locked the Jeep and pocketed the keys.

He didn’t actually agree, either, a fact Bo finally seemed to notice. With a frown, Bo pulled Travis up against him again and kissed him hard on the lips. Then he slung his arm over Travis’s shoulders and headed back toward the lobby. He wasn’t forcing Travis to go with him, but not going would take some effort.

Just one night.

Why shouldn’t he? They were both consenting adults. Neither of them had other relationship commitments, and Bo got him more hot and bothered than anyone since . . . to be honest, he couldn’t think of anyone who had ever affected him quite like Bo. As for working together after—well, that damage was done. How much worse could it be after spending the night together than if he walked away at this point?

Mari's Review:

*** ARC provided by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.***

Travis, a liberal Austinite, has been lusting over conservative straight cowboy Bo from the moment he saw him. While he has gotten a certain vibe from Bo, he's not about to act up on his attraction, especially after his last relationship with a very in the closet man blew up in his face. Ree, Bo's sister, convinces Travis to rely on a very exclusive dating service to find a date and hoping to get over his infatuation, Travis agrees. The last thing he expected to find there was Bo.

Bo is not gay. Well, not exactly. He's attracted to men, but he's never been in a relationship, just anonymous hook-ups as far away from El Paso as he can manage. He's very attracted to Travis, though, and when fate puts him in his path, he's determined to have him. Only Bo is not out and considering how conservative his family is, he's not looking forward to let that particular cat out of the bag.

I absolutely loved this book! It was short, but it packs quite a punch. It's a sweet, very hot opposites-attract story with just enough angst to keep it very interesting. I loved both Bo and Travis, they had amazing chemistry and their love scenes were hot, hot, hot, but I think my favorite of the two was Bo, every time he used 'cariño' as a term of endearment I melted in a puddle of Mari-goo. ;) Very recommendable!

Mari's Review:

***ARC provided to Bayou Book Junkie in exchange for a fair and honest review.***

I chose to read Tall Order by Irene Preston, because let's face it, I rarely read anything that isn't MM any longer and... I adored it to bits!

Win (Aston) is such a gentle, sweet giant and while I wanted to strangle Dylan at times, I ended up liking him quite a bit.

They had great chemistry together and their sex scenes were uber hot! Never mind that the second chance at love idea after failing so spectacularly on their first chance was pretty neat.

I would've liked to know more about what happened to Dylan in New York, but other than that, the story was awesome and sweet and endearing and I definitely will love to read it again (or more about them **hint hint nudge nudge**) sometime in the near future.

Hell's Kitchen has nothing on the flames Giancarlo and Garrett ignite at Restaurant Ransom...
Garrett Ransom is America's hot chef du jour. He has a Michelin-starred restaurant in New York City, a hit reality TV show, and a new man in his bed every week. Yes, he secretly thinks his business partner, Giancarlo "Carlo" Rotolo, is hotter than a ghost pepper, but he would never jeopardize their friendship with a fling. Then Garrett overhears some juicy gossip among the crew and realizes he'll have to break Giancarlo's cardinal rule, no banging the staff - for Carlo's own good, of course. Just a taste of Carlo should be plenty. Long-term relationships aren't on Garrett's menu.
Giancarlo's been in love with Garrett forever. He's sure Garrett will eventually realize they are destined to be more than business partners. But when Garrett installs his latest boyfriend as their new chef d'cuisine and announces plans to leave Carlo in New York while he opens a second restaurant on the west coast, Carlo is forced to re-evaluate his life.
Can a high-strung British chef and a nice Italian boy from Brooklyn find the perfect fusion of fine-dining and family-style?

Tracy's Review:

4 Stars

**this book was provided to me by the author/publisher via Fated Desires in exchange for an honest review**

The first thing I am going to say is SOMEBODY likes Hell's Kitchen! haha.. It's okay I like to watch Gordon Ramsay make people cry too :)

Carlo and Garrett are partners in restaurant. Garrett is The Celebrity British Chef, The T.V. star of a reality show, the hot playboy who likes to sleep around. Carlo is his best friend, business partner, manages of the restaurant and is in love with Garrett, and has been for years.

Garrett and Carlo have a policy that you don't sleep with your co-workers, but when Garrett overhears gossip about the jerk that Carlo is in love with, he decides he needs just one taste of Carlo, but will one taste be enough? Will Carlo confess his love? Will Garrett return his love?

This was a good book. It held my attention and moved at a good pace. I read it in less than a day. The MC's had a good chemistry and most of the sex was alluded to rather than explicit, but the little we did get was hot and Garrett and Carlo had a good connection.

I loved the secondary characters in this book as well. Carlo has the stereotypical Italian family. They were entertaining and brought a lightness to the book. Carlo's cousin Joey was a real character! lol

I would recommend this book. This is my first book by this author, but I will be looking into more of her work!
