    Character Interview:
Today I'm happy to welcome Niall and Michael, from Both Sides Now by Megan Slayer, to Bayou Book Junkie!

Gentlemen, thanks so much for agreeing to this interview. It's a pleasure to have y'all here! Tell us a little about yourselves!
Niall: Thanks for having us. It’s a pleasure to be here, too.
Michael: Thank you. Now you wanted to know something about us. We’re both teachers. He teaches third grade and I have the fourth graders. He’s the quiet one and I’m the the talker. I approached him first. Couldn’t keep away from that sexy body and those cheeks. I swear the moment he shaves, he’s got five o’clock shadow again. Sexy.
Niall: Thanks Michael. (Blushes) Yes, he’s the chatty one. This year we were both offered longer contracts at the school, so that’s been a help. I love teaching and can’t see myself doing anything else, but I do enjoy refurbishing old furniture.

What has been the greatest challenge in your relationship?
Niall: That’s a loaded question. There was so much I didn’t know about Michael and he has been good at playing cool. Getting him to open up has been tough, but worth it.
Michael: It’s hard to trust when you’re in my position. I don’t just teach. I’m in a touring band during the summer and the band is pretty popular. I’ve been hesitant to mix my band life with my teaching life. Explaining it all to Niall and getting him to accept me has been the biggest challenge.

Now that you’ve gotten together, what comes next?
Niall: I’ve got a lot of concerts to attend and I get to listen to new music.
Michael: I’m still trying to work out my schedule between the band and school, but I’ve got Niall with me, so that’s been a gigantic ego boost. Eventually I want to get married. We’ve already moved in together in his sweet Victorian house. Love it there. Love him.

What was the hardest thing for you to overcome that you didn’t expect to be an issue?
Niall: It’s not every day you find out the man you’re sleeping with is a giant of the music scene as well as the teacher across the hall. It’s been tough for me to wrap my head around it, but I love him, so I’ve adjusted.
Michael: If he’s had a hard time wrapping his head around my split life, then it’s been just as difficult for me to come to terms with that as well as what I want from my life. Like I said, I don’t trust easily, but Niall’s made it less difficult. Plus, after all we’ve been through, he’s still beside me. For me, loyalty is paramount. He’s loyal and so handsome. I’m hooked. After sorting out the crap with my music career and  my job at the school, for Niall to stick with me that’s hot as hell.

What are your favorite qualities about your partner?
Niall: Michael is the adventurer. There’s nothing he won’t try. I admire that. I’m shy and he’s not, so he gets me to try new foods and other stuff. I’m glad. I like the changes, even if sometimes he pushes me more than I’d like.
Michael: I’m not sure I can pinpoint my favorite qualities about him, but I’ll try. I love that Niall is understanding. He’s patient and kind. I love that he’s crazy enough to love me and not to quit on me even when I want to quit on myself. That’s huge. Mostly, my favorite quality about him is that he’s mine. God, I sound sappy, but hey, when I’m happy, that happens.

    What's your partner’s sexiest feature?

    Niall: His eyes
Michael: His ass. Hands down. I love the man’s ass.

When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Javier, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind.
When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best. The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always needs them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite--on command.
She also masquerades under the name Wendi Zwaduk.

Blog Tour: MM: Velocity by Sara York (ARC Review)

Velocity
Flight HA1710 #2
by Sara York
Genre: MM Contemporary
Stand Alone

When everything falls apart, can Phil and Davin put it back together?

The crash of Flight HA1710 brings life into focus for Phil Stewart. Before meeting Davin Tierney, love seemed only a myth to Phil, but one night in New York City changed everything, giving him something he didn’t even know existed. But Phil wasn’t comfortable saying I love you. During the crash, Davin suffers a brain injury, leaving him in a coma. Phil wonders how love can be so cruel to give him Davin and then take him away so suddenly.

Davin never intended to give Phil a second look, but Phil broke through barriers and made amazing overtures before stalling on the word love. The crash changes everything, and he’s no longer willing to play it safe, but can Phil actually change from the playboy Davin first met?

Mari's Review:

*ARC provided to Bayou Book Junkie in exchange for a fair and honest review.*

I absolutely adored this story. Both Davin and Phil are very well rounded characters that I couldn't help but root for throughout the story. They go through so much to be together and despite them being so different from each other, like diametrical opposites, their love is strong enough to withstand everything, from starting a long distance friendship that slowly turns to more to surviving a plane accident that nearly ends their lives.

It's a story of trust, of giving and taking chances and above all, it's a story that shows you that love truly conquers everything.

The writing was nearly flawless, the story engaging and the characters interesting. I loved that the author didn't drag the angst indefinitely, especially there at the end, but instead used it to bring home a point for Davin regarding how much Phil had changed.

A really recommendable, fast read that I'm sure I'd love to read again.

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Tracy's Review:

3.5 Stars

*copy provided by author/publisher via N K Author Services in exchange for an honest review*
This was a good premises, and storyline, but the story itself fell short. Nothing about this book felt natural. It all felt forced. The characters didn't have a whole lot of chemistry. Sometimes you just don't connect with a set of characters or a story and I just didn't connect at all.

It wasn't a terribly written story, I just wasn't feeling it. The characters were both likable. The progression of their relationship was believable, considering what Chris went through, but the story was left unfinished with unresolved issues. For everything the author tried to add into the book, it was just too short. It needed more chapters or the flow needed to be fleshed out to make the story feel complete.

About The Author:

Aj Kelton is the dynamic writing duo or Angel White and Jordan Kelton. The two meet on line and found they had a love of writing. They both loved to travel and you could find them at many writers conventions. When Angel passed away in January of 2014 Jordan took a small break from writing. After looking at the many stories they had half written and the notebooks filled with ideas for more Jordan decided to continue writing as Aj Kelton in order to keep Angel’s dream  and in some small way her, alive.  Finding your Hero is the first of these.

Blog Tour: A Woman's Pleasure by J.F. Kelly

Blog Tour: A Woman's Pleasure  by J.F. Kelly

A Woman's Pleasure
by J.F. Kelly
Genre: Erotic Romance

A Woman’s Pleasure by J.F. Kelly (pen name of Warren Shepell): 25 Erotic Chapters about Satisfying Sex and Mutuality
There are three levels at which you can read the book:
At the first level it is a cornucopia of sexual delights and a great fantasy read for both women and men.  It has lots of romance as well as sensual encounters.  At the second level, it recognizes that women are wired differently from men and the book empowers women to ask for what will pleasure them and satisfy them in lovemaking encounters. At the third level it is a book that teaches men to be great lovers and how to satisfy their women, and in knowing that by satisfying their women, they themselves will get satisfied.
‘A Woman’s Pleasure’ is the steamy story of 25 men, and how they use romance, care, and mutual attention in achieving complete sexual satisfaction – for both themselves and their partners.
J.F. Kelly, author of ‘A Woman’s Pleasure’, isn’t interested in writing a book that requires fetishes, kinkiness and dominance to stir his audience – he’s out to capture the intimacies and intensity of true love-making; passions rarely shared on the pages of most books that aim to hit the mark on their reader’s erotic fantasies. Indeed, most books attempt to deliver purely physical, sometimes extreme sexual fantasies with the barest, slightest shade of romance – often creating nothing but plain porn.
J.F. Kelly’s work, however, isn’t like most books.
The book focuses on the adventures of 25 different men, and their various sexual encounters – at times, the book leaves you breathless, at other times, it ensures you you’ll be left with a throbbing heart and yearning for more.
Each chapter is devoted to a different man – and with each chapter, author J.F. Kelly accentuates the book’s purpose as a collection of sensual experiences meant to enlighten readers on the possibilities and the erotic joy of sexual equality, in and outside the bedroom. He strips off the abuse and nature of books like 50 Shades of Grey, instead insisting on giving readers an insight into mutual fulfillment through attentive intimacy, understanding and romance – keeping things incredibly hot without having to resort to extremes with a myriad of tales that depict skills lost to most men.
In a statement on his website, author J.F. Kelly notes various reasons for his choice of portrayal, as he explains why his book approaches sex in such a normative, yet rarely seen way for literature. He says he created it as: “A vibrant counterpoint to pornography and sex on the internet that treats sex as only a physical act and portrays many things done to women that women don't enjoy. Pornography and sex on the internet become an educational tool for most men. In contrast, this book teaches men about satisfying sex and what women really want in expressing and experiencing their sexuality.”
In critique of the book, professional book reviewer Paige Van De Winkle notes that “in the wake of erotic novels like Fifty Shades of Grey that, according to some, depict unconventional sex as exploitative—with one partner dominating over the other without a discussion of limits, respect, or safe words—A Woman’s Pleasure refreshingly focuses on the aspects of … sex that books like Fifty Shades ignore.”

J.F. Kelly is the pen name of Warren Shepell. His first book is ‘A Woman's Pleasure.’

Warren has many interests. In addition to writing, he invests in Domains, Real Estate and Broadway Shows and Theater across North America. Some of his other businesses are in EAP Surveys and EAP Audits. He attends Film Festivals yearly around the world.

Warren Shepell is a well-recognized pioneer in the field of Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and well-being in the workplace, among family members, couples, and individuals.  He started, developed, and ran Warren Shepell Consultants Corp/Warren Shepell-The EAP Professionals/Les Consultants Shepell Ltee. with an employee group of 460 full time and 1500 part time employees which he sold in 2005. He brought the concept of mental health counselling to the mainstream population.

He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a PhD in Counseling and Clinical Psychology and has counseled couples for 25 years. Now, using the pen name of J.F. Kelly, Warren Shepell brings his unique vision to erotic novels and fictional short stories that will promote women's rights, and equality between women and men not only at work, but also in the bedroom.

As J.F. Kelly, he gives voice to women and the men that respect each other, and to relationships, including erotic and sensual relationships between women and men that embody mutuality.

He brings heart, sensitivity and appreciation for the uniqueness found among ordinary people in their journey in life and is a spokesperson for the everyday person.

Three of his favorite sayings personify his writings:
"Each of us has a heart, a soul, and feelings. Each of us desires to be wanted, to be appreciated, and to be loved."
"Making love is not something you do to someone―it's something you share. Lovemaking between men and women should be mutually pleasurably. Both women and men should be fully and completely satisfied."
"If women were totally satisfied with their sexual and lovemaking experiences, women would welcome the lovemaking experience as much as men."

Danna and Eric find themselves stepping into the role as husband and wife leading them to realize they just may be each other’s ‘match’. But will Danna be able to stand up to her rigid, old fashioned father and choose her own husband?

Fun Facts:

I'm a HUGE Hallmark Channel fan and my ultimate goal would be to see A Husband for Danna turned into a Hallmark Channel movie.

After Hallmark movies, I am a big cat lover. My family calls me the crazy cat lady. At one time I was feeding 15 stray cats in my backyard. I own 3 indoor cats. You would have thought I might have worked a cat into this book. Nope. Not a one.

My favorite color is purple and I did manage to work that into the book. The giant sized stuffed bear that Eric wins for Danna at the fair is a bright purple. I was thrilled that the cover artist included the bear on the cover.

I haven't told anyone this yet but I'll share it here - If I had to pick an actress to play Danna my first choice would be Mindy Kaling. I think she would be perfect.

Christina Lorenzen started writing as a young teen, jotting stories in wire ring composition notebooks. Her first typewriter made it faster to get all those stories out of her head and down on paper. Her love of writing has sustained her through a myriad of jobs that included hairdresser, legal secretary, waitress and door-‐‑to-‐‑door saleswoman.
Luckily for her, writing proved to be successful and a lot less walking than going door to door. A Husband for Danna is Christina’s first novel. She is busy working on her next. When she isn’t writing or reading, she can be found walking her dog, talking to her herd of cats and spending time with her family.
