When his tutor suggested he pick a favorite book to get more motivated to learn to read, Axel chose a gay romance novel. He ended up taking the book everywhere he went, reading it slowly yet repeatedly until he could recite entire lines. Then his tutor resigned and a new one came to replace her. Richard is doing research on dyslexia for his next book by tutoring Axel, but can he remain an impartial observer? Will working with such an attractive man be possible for Axel? Moreover, can Richard keep his secrets under wraps?

Excerpt:

"What're you reading?"
"Oh, this." Axel's face turned scarlet. He made a failed attempt to cover the title and cover of the book with his hand. Richard hid his smile and pretended not to know what was going on.
"What's it about?" he asked, hoping Axel was too flustered to see through his innocent act.
Axel shrugged. "Nothing special."
Richard almost grinned at the "Nothing special" but he kept his face straight.
"Care to tell me more?"
"Well," Axel started, eyes fixed to the table. "It's about a millionaire's son whose life is in danger and his father pays a bodyguard to keep an eye on him. They eventually fall for each other as they—"
"This bodyguard—is it a girl?"
For the second time, Axel blushed. "N-no. It's also a man." Axel stared at Richard as if challenging him to say something sour about it. "That a problem for you?"
Richard arched an eyebrow. If Axel only knew.
"What? No, not at all. In fact, finding out you like reading that kind of story makes me really happy." Richard captured Axel's gaze and they exchanged a long, searching look.
"Huh," Axel said quietly as he turned away.

Blurb:

What would you do if you were a young oil mogul who had been crossed by your business counterpart, a man who then stopped returning your calls? Not knowing what else to do after every action he has taken failed, Luke Garrett decides to kidnap his business partner's son to gain the man's attention to their shared problem.

Alex is celebrating his eighteenth birthday by getting drunk with his best friend--and studiously avoiding the debutantes his father tries to throw his way--when he finds himself the houseguest of a rather unconventional abductor. How can this plan possibly go right?

Excerpts:

"Hey!" they cried out.
"I'm going home with my friend. Let me go!" Alex shouted.
It was no use. Men in black surrounded him from every angle. He couldn't see Seth anywhere.
"Seth!"
"Alex!"
"Quiet!" the first man barked. "Take Mr. Parker away. Go. Now!"
Am I being kidnapped? Alex's muddled mind slowly understood the situation as he tried to yank his arms free. He grunted when two men squeezed his upper arms tightly; their fingers bit into his skin when they pulled him away.
"Alex! You let him go, you bastards!"
Alex looked over his shoulder as he was dragged into a black van. The men had grabbed Seth and held him down on the ground.
"No." His head was spinning. "Don't hurt him. It's me you want. Let him go."
"We're not going to hurt anyone as long as you obey." The man growled.
Suddenly Alex felt a prick at the back of his neck. He cried out in pain.
"Wh-what are you doing?" He tried to reach back but he couldn't. His knees buckled, darkness gripped him, and suddenly he didn't know any more.

As the only senior graphic designer at Downey Handbags, Zane Kotsky expected to
become the head of the creative art department when the company planned to expand
its business. His hope crashed when it turned out that the company wanted someone
from outside to be the manager. Knowing that, Zane planned to leave the place at
once, but that was before he met the man who would become his boss,
Joachim Wessling.

Excerpt:
"I don't know, but..." He sighed and began telling her everything that was said in the meeting, including his own thoughts and self-promise not to go. He also asked her not to tell anyone.
"Of course I won't. But I agree with you. You can't leave. You have to show them how good you are and how wrong they are not to pick you."
"Thank you, love." He sniffed and sank his fork into his warm, moist muffin. It looked tasty enough that it helped him forget about the meeting though only for a second.
"Still, there's a chance you might like this new guy."
Huh? Zane's head whirled up so fast he got dizzy. "I thought you were on my side."
"I'm not taking sides. I’m just thinking of what's best for everyone. For you, for the company."
"Then you must think I'm not good enough to be the art department manager."
"I never said that."
"No, seriously." He set his muffin aside and folded his arms on the table, facing her straight on. "What do you think I need to improve? Like I told you earlier, the management people thought I wasn't mature enough."
"I don't think there's something wrong with you. I said something about the new person because I think finally you'll get someone equal to you. Someone you can argue with about a design and who can argue back. You realize that no junior designers dare say anything against you, right?"
"I, err..." Zane didn't know what to say. He always thought he treated them fairly. He wasn't a tyrant.
“You can be childish sometimes.”
“See? You think there’s something wrong with me.”
Mira sighed. “Come on. It’s for your own good. If you behave properly, management will see that you’re serious. That newcomer is an outsider anyway. He won’t know shit about our company.”
“Whoa.” He had never heard dirty words out of her mouth before. Then he shrugged and took a sip of his caramel macchiato.
“You promised yourself you’d show Downey they couldn’t get rid of you easily.”
Zane still said nothing. She nudged at him, almost tipping over the contents of the cup he was holding.
“Hey.”
“Promise me.”
“Okay, okay.”

Blurb

Patrick Trafford is pleased with the simple life he has, spending his time tending a tiny garden accompanied by his best friend, Chad, who just happens to be a cockroach. Nevertheless, he can't hide the excitement bubbling in him when a man suddenly appears in the garden.

Damien Abner politely welcomes, albeit somewhat at a loss, Patrick's warm offer to spend time with him. To have a coffee, watch some movie, and dance along with the characters in it.

They begin to date and Patrick has never been happier, though he barely knows who Damien is -- not that it matters to him. For him, being clueless does mean bliss.

Excerpt:
Patrick floats through the following day. When Damien shows up, Patrick takes him immediately to near the TV, sets the video cassette into place, and clutches Damien's hands as they dance. He offers coffee and cookies this time and finally brings his guitar out to the sitting room. Patrick feels a bit uneasy when Damien keeps looking at him instead of his guitar.

"Do you like it?"

"Huh?"

"My guitar."

Confusion flashes across Damien's good-looking face for a second.

"Oh, absolutely." His smile cracks. He shifts on the couch to make space for Patrick. Patrick plops down next to him and begins to sing. It's "More Than Words," one of his favorite songs. Damien listens carefully.

Damien is silent, even after Patrick has stopped singing. His eyes turn soft.

"So, what do you say? What do you think of my voice?" Patrick asks impatiently.

Damien's still quiet. Then he closes his eyes and reaches out a hand. He touches the side of Patrick's face.

Patrick holds his breath and closes his eyes too. He doesn't dare to move. Damien's hand feels so warm and good on his skin.

He lets out a heavy sigh when the hand is gone and opens his eyes.

"That's the most beautiful voice I've ever heard," Damien says.

Patrick doesn't know what to do. He puts aside his guitar -- grabs it back -- lays it down on the table -- takes it back again and holds it close to him. He rocks slowly on the couch.

"Thank you," he murmurs -- not sure whether he is expressing gratitude for the compliment or the touch.

Damien stands up.

"You're leaving?" Patrick asks, disappointed.

"I have other things I need to do, Patrick."

Patrick swallows deep. He turns away. "Okay. It's almost dark anyway and I haven't been to the garden."

"Yeah."

"Will you come again?"

"Do you want me to?"

"I'd love you to."

"So I'll come."

Damien waves and walks away.

As if to remind Patrick he's there, Chad crawls up Patrick's shirt front. Patrick palms him up and puts him on the table.

"Do you like him, too?" Patrick asks.

Chad only chirps.
