Release Blitz ~ Mayhem by Alexis Noelle ~ (Review)

Title: Mayhem

Series: Deathstalkers MC #5
Author: Alexis Noelle
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: February 27, 2017

I had to step up, take over,

Save her from herself,
From him.
He doesn't deserve her.
But I sure as Hell don't either
She's too sweet, too soft, too kind.
A broken shell of the woman she once was.
But now, there's more on the line,
She's in too deep.
And I'll be damned if I ever give up
On putting her back together,
Piece-by-piece,
Owning every ounce of the woman,
Who stole my heart.

5 Stars!

When Jasmine is forced to find a job by her abusive husband, she starts to fear she'll just disappoint him once more. Her last hope is an ad for a PA at a place called Ambrosia. Having no idea Ambrosia is actually a strip club owned by the local DeathStalkers MC, Jasmine is completely unprepared by the dark and intimidating man interviewing her.

Cutter is surprised that the beautiful yet seemingly timid woman in front of him would be comfortable working in a strip club even if it is in an office behind a desk. There is something about her that calls to him, though, and makes him want to pull her into his arms. If only he was confident that she would not only want someone like him but could actually handle what that would mean. However, when he finds out she's taken he knows he needs to back off.

The more time Cutter spends with Jasmine the more he begins to realize she is more fragile than he thought. Someone has beaten her down and tried to break her. She deserves to be happy but it's obvious she's not. Even though it's not his place Cutter feels the need to be the one to pick up the pieces and put her back together. He will get his chance sooner rather than later when her husband vows to destroy her.

Slowly and gently, Cutter along with the Deathstalkers family are able to help Jasmine start over and find her strength. Nothing lasts forever, though, because being part of an MC is dangerous. Enemies are always near and between those set to harm the Deathstalkers and a husband hell bent on never letting her walk away both Jasmine and Cutter will have to be stronger and Braver than they've ever been before.

While Alexis Noelle is not new to the world of contemporary romance, she is relatively new to me. I expected to read a very formulaic motorcycle romance when I first started Mayhem but instead, I found myself completely immersed in the world and the characters that took up the screen of my Kindle. Alexis Noelle is definitely great at what she does and I'm going to add her to my list of great MC Romance authors.
I had to step up, take over, Save her from herself, From him. A jerk who didn't deserve her. But I sure as Hell don't either She's too sweet, too soft, too kind. A broken shell of the woman she once was.

Obviously, this blurb is a tad vague but it was very compelling as well. I had no idea that the Hero Cutter would completely and utterly steal my heart. He is the very definition of a modern day "Knight in Shining Armor". While he is by no means a softie or weak but a hard, Alpha Biker, he also possesses the ability to treat his woman like she means everything in the world to him. He didn't fall into the stereotypes we see so often in these types of books and I have not one negative thing to say about him other than the fact that he is only a fictional character. I have definitely found myself a new Book Boyfriend.

Jasmine, sweet yet so damaged Jasmine. I loved her, too and while I wish she could have had the strength to walk away from that horrible and repugnant man she married long before she'd become so beaten down, I'm glad her journey led her to Cutter and she embraced him and the life he offered her. Not once did she make me want to wring her neck, which again is something I often feel with this genre, she just made me want to help her see what he had done to her.

Luckily Jasmine has Cutter. They are great together and while maybe it was a bit of instalove it was also endearing and I didn't mind it one bit. They had excellent chemistry and they fit so well together I could actually see them lasting for the long haul and having a great relationship.

I love the way the women of the club immediately find a place for Jasmine and make it easy for her to see she can fit in. I'm not saying she needed hand holding because she quickly melds into her role as an Old Lady but I definitely like that the women in the club seem to stick together and support one another. That's important to me since there is so much emphasis on how the men support each other and how important the brotherhood is. We gotta have a sisterhood as well, right?

When all is said and done, I cannot recommend this book enough. Honestly, whether you're a fan of MC books or not, this is a great book. Alexis Noelle definitely has a new fan.
