When he started looking for someone to help heal his broken heart, Wilson Curtis never dreamed he’d find two someones. Love isn’t always conventional.

After being publicly outed leaves his restaurant business in tatters, and being dumped by his closeted boyfriend, Wilson Curtis goes to Key West alone where he meets Simon and Adam. Fascinated by this couple, he strikes up conversation and is soon invited into their bed for some holiday fun.

But once isn’t enough, and the offer is extended for the remainder of his stay. As they get to know each other, in and out of the bedroom, sparks fly and ten days is all it takes to change their lives.

When it comes time for Wil to leave, with outside tensions closing in and time running out, tempers flare and emotions fray. Beneath the misunderstandings and lack of communication is the realization these three men aren’t ready to say goodbye.

4 Stars!

Well, first and foremost let me say that NR Walker is one of my favorite authors because I'm pretty sure there is nothing she can't write. Ménage is one of those themes not everyone can do well but it worked so well in this story I couldn't help loving these men together. I definitely have no problem recommending Three's Company, especially to those who are N.R. Walker fans.

Simon and Adam love each other and have a wonderful committed relationship. However, the two men find themselves in need of a little fun and adventure from time to time that comes in the form of a third. Never have they had the desire to entertain a man for more than a night, though, satisfied with the relationship between only them and not wanting any messy emotions. Until they meet Wilson Curtis.

Wilson is vacationing in Key West alone. His life in tatters after he was outed and his closeted boyfriend of 2 years breaks up with him. Meeting Simon and Adam and witnessing gay men who are out and proud is very eye opening for him. Soon the three men take their new friendship in a completely unexpected direction, at least for Wilson who's never experienced something so amazing.

All three men are surprised by how well they fit together and how natural it feels and Wilson finds himself spending as much time as he can with Adam and Simon. But vacations have to come to an end and it's hard for all of them to come to terms with what they want. It was unexpected and it's complicated and in the end, they'll have to decide if it's all worth it.

I loved all three men individually and together and while sometimes it's hard to understand why Adam and Simon couldn't just be satisfied permanently without bringing in another person, I had to just stop and look at the story through their eyes. Things weren't all hearts and roses the whole time, communication is always important in these stories (as it is in real life) and when you have 3 people in a relationship, communication becomes even more essential. They all three have important roles in their relationship but in the end. they all fit perfectly together.

I haven't personally been to Key West but I definitely found myself with a vivid picture as I read. It was well written and very entertaining and I was left wanting more because I was not ready to leave these men behind.

**12,800 word short story. Gay romance. Originally published in 2013. No new content has been added.**

Heartbroken, Dean Cartwright leaves Sydney and heads home, to the coastal town of Newcastle. In a bid to make new friends, he signs up for a local rugby league team where he meets a man known as Macca.

Dean and Macca are both front row forwards, meaning they’re the biggest guys on the team. Over six feet tall and over a hundred kilos each, they’re a force to be reckoned with.

But when Dean gets knocked out, Macca gets even by punching the other guy, and both Dean and Macca end up on the sideline.

Dean soon realizes that being knocked unconscious is the best thing to ever happen to him.

5 Stars!!!

It takes talent to write a story so short and leave the reader feeling satisfied and N.R. Walker definitely has talent in spades!

Dean moved back to Sidney after his boyfriend cheated on him and joined a local rugby club. While he’s not looking for a relationship, he can’t stop crushing on his teammate Macca, even if he has no clue if Macca is even gay. However, after Dean is knocked out during a game and Macca gets even with the guy who hurt Dean, things start changing between them, but do they have what it takes to make it work in the long run?

Macca/Darren was absolutely adorable! He was a big guy, who knew how to fight, but obviously was a sweetheart in anything that was related to Dean. And Dean was really nice, too. I loved how quick he was in reassuring Darren that money or work weren’t an obstacle between them. The chemistry between them was explosive and it was nice to see how their relationship was faring a year after they got together.

If I could have asked for more, I would, but mostly because I’m greedy, not because it wasn’t enough. I just wanted more of them. As always, the writing was outstanding and the progression was very natural, the transition from friends to lovers was seamless and both Darren and Dean were so lovely!

Highly recommendable!

  1. The book(s) that were so long in my TBR before I got around to read were Adrien English series. Believe it or not the series was the last Josh Lanyon books I read (instead of first) just because a friend showed such dislike to Jake character! Only when I finally read them, I ended up liking him (well, there were moments I wanted to smack him, of course - but that's besides the point!). :D

  6. I'm not really sure what my favorite may/december book is because that's not one of my favorite tropes. I'll read it, but don't seek it out. There a lots of books in my TBR that I've wondered why I've waited so long to read but I have over 2000 currently so it happens a lot. At the moment I can't think of one but I know it's happened. My favorite N.R. Walker cover is The Twelfth of Never because I really love the dog pictured on it.

  7. Hard to pick a favorite cover, but I'll go with Red Dirt Heart and the runner up is The Weight of It All.

Thanks for featuring NR Walker this month. Love her books!

  8. My May/December favourite romances are of course "Thomas Elkin" series and also "Strong Enough" by Cardeno C.
