Release Tour ~ Steel by Chiah Wilder ~ (Review + Giveaway)

Title: Steel
Series: Night Rebels MC #1
Author: Chiah Wilder
Genre: MC Romance
Release: February 23, 2017

A fierce and feared warrior. His name is Steel, and he’s President of the Night Rebels MC. Part Navajo, part Irish, Steel is a respected leader of his brotherhood. With his tatted muscular body, ebony hair, and green eyes, he is a magnet to women. Never turning away a sexy body, he indulges in casual sex, but nothing more.

For him, defending his brotherhood and protecting his teenage daughter are foremost. Falling in love and being in a long term relationship don’t even make it on his list. He gave his heart to a woman when he was young and weak, but now he’s strong and has no room in his heart for love.

Then he meets his daughter’s social worker. His attraction to her is intense. Desire flares through him, and he’s drawn to her in a way that angers him. He doesn’t have time for a woman, but he can’t get the feisty, spirited caseworker out of his mind.
He wants to run his callused fingers through her hair.

He wants to crush his mouth to hers

He wants to devour her.

But she resists him. No woman has ever resisted him.

When he looks into her eyes, he sees the depths of sorrow and a spark of passion. She’s touched him. He’s never wanted a woman as much as he wants her.
And he always gets what he wants…no matter what.

From the moment Breanna Quine laid eyes on the rugged biker, her body betrayed her. And when she spotted the outlaw’s MC patch on his leather jacket, her blood turned to ice.

Hating bikers since her father gave up his family for the brotherhood, Breanna swore to never be around them again. Then the captivating Night Rebels President’s blazing, green-eyed gaze catches hers, and she is drawn to him like a moth is to fire.

But she can’t let herself fall for him, no matter how much her body buzzes whenever she is near him. As hard as she tries to fight her attraction to the dark, dangerous man, her resistance is weakening. Then when she sees his tenderness toward his daughter, it melts her heart. She has to keep reminding herself that he’s not only a biker, but he’s the worst kind—an outlaw.

Steel has his hands full trying to figure out who is supplying drugs to the teens of Alina, Colorado. Time is running out for him as danger comes knocking at his door threatening to destroy his family and the woman whom he has vowed to make his own.

Can two independent people put their past behind them in order to come together? Will they fight for love against the shadows and the danger that lurks all around them, threatening to destroy them forever?

5 Stars!

OMG! This book is so good yet so freaking infuriating, too. I'm going to be frank and say this up front because there is no way it won't color the rest of my review. The romance part of this story is not in any way shape or form okay with me. I found the H, Steel, to be a despicable man. As far as the way he treated the h, Breanna, I was completely disgusted. He was hypocritical, hotheaded, stubborn, judgmental, selfish, borderline emotionally abusive. He may have been sweet about 30% of the time but in my opinion that is not enough to put up with what Breanna put up with. If all you care about is hot sex then sure why not.

Now here's the catch 22 when it comes to Steel. As a dad, he's great. You can tell he loves his daughter and he's sweet with her. He's great with his mom, he's even okay with his daughter's mother whose questionable choices in men makes me sick. As a club Pres and a brother in the MC he's perfect. So see, everything points to me wanting to love this man but I can't! I can not board that train. Ugh! *Hangs head and begins to sob*

As for Breanna, while I liked her, I am very disappointed that she let him treat her the way he did and then just acted as if it was her fault. She never held him accountable for his actions and I'm sorry but that is not okay with me. I'm used to Bikers being jerks, doing something bad and possibly making me want to throat punch them. I still will find a reason to forgive them and understand why the h loves them but Breanna baby, You Are Weak! This man needs therapy. His daddy issues are getting in the way of him being a decent human being towards his woman, walk away from the big bad Biker.

The story, however, is fantastic. I loved it. We've got mystery, who's supplying heroin to the town? Who's Candyman? What's going on with these EBT cards? I was kept on my toes for most of the book and just when I thought I had the answers we are thrown a curve ball.

The struggle Steel has with his heroin addict daughter Chenoa had my heart breaking for him. At 17 years old, it's hard to watch someone so beaten down by life. Then in contrast we have Breanna's brother Nicholas who is also an addict and it drives home how addiction destroys families. It made me unbelievably sad thinking about such loss of hopes and dreams and wasted futures.

All in all, I will say this is an excellent book. I may have not liked Steel's "romantic style" but how often can I say that an author evoked such a visceral reaction out of me with one of their characters? That aside, I have nothing but good things to say and I absolutely recommend this book. After all, maybe some women will find Steel is their fantasy of Prince Charming.

Chiah Wilder is the author of Hawk’s Property, the first book in the Insurgents MC Series. It is a full length, standalone novel. Its release date is set for October 27, 2015.

Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories. Figuring she had to grow up and get a “real” job, her writing was placed on the back burner.

Her love of reading has always be center front in her life. Chiah’s love of bad boys both in and out of fiction has inspired her Insurgents series. She loves an alpha male whose softer side is brought out by a passionate, spirited woman. In fiction there are no rules or boundaries, and fantasies can go as far as the characters want to take them. Steamy, biker romances with rough, sexy bad boys are her guilty pleasure along with brownies, cheddar cheese, and movie marathons.

Returning to writing has been a dream come true. Writing and publishing Hawk’s Property has been an amazing journey, and she is happy to share the Insurgents family with her readers. She is busy writing her next book in the series.

Chiah would love to hear from you. You can contact her at: chiahwilder@gmail.com
