He wants to forget

West is an archangel’s assassin delivering justice to supernatural creatures who break the law. Not a straightforward job because he also has to absorb the memories of those he kills. Even worse, West is breaking the law himself in an attempt to free his brother from hell. If he doesn’t succeed before his archangel boss finds out, West will be joining his sibling.

He wants to remember

A young guy wakes in a London park with his memories gone. He has no idea who he is, or where he comes from. A bracelet engraved with the single word Tao is the only clue to his identity. With no sign of his memory returning, he drifts into a life on the streets. Begging is his only way to survive.

Two worlds collide

When Tao returns West’s stolen wallet, West offers to buy him a coffee. Tao delights in the chance to sit down with a good-looking guy until his instincts tell him to run away. Fast. West is surprised when Tao flees, considering how much he’d been mentally urging him to stay. Is he losing his touch or is Tao more than a scruffy young man down on his luck?

Only one way to find out.

5+ Mindblowing Stars!!!

Two months ago, Tao woke up without memories at Hyde Park and since then he's been living at a squat and begging for money in the streets of London. He hasn't been able to remember anything and his search for answers has been fruitless. However, when he stops a guy from his squat from stealing another man's wallet, it sets a series of events that will change his life forever.

I loved Tao from the start, he was so sweet and caring, despite his circumstances not being the best. I wasn't too sure about West, but once Tao made a dent in his armor and we got to see the West he'd been hiding, well, I fell hard for him, too. I felt so bad for all he had to go through before dying the first time and even more after he became Raphael's assassin.

Tao and West just had this amazing chemistry between them, their banter was hilarious and their interactions were pure gold. But above all, I loved seeing how their relationship changed once West finally realized Tao wouldn't allow him to push him away. They needed each other and while they were very different, they complemented the other perfectly, they just made so much sense to me as a couple. And of course, the hotter than hot sex didn't hurt. ;)

Carson and Raphael were awesome, and I hated Makk with a passion, and didn't like Uriel or the ones working for him, I would've loved to find out more about how they were dealt with, but I was satisfied with what I read.

Overall, this book just went to the top of my 2017 favorite reads! Not only did it have Tao, who was awesome and impossible not to love, but Ms. Elsborg redeemed West—who I'd been wary of at first as there was a scene I found a tad disturbing the first time Tao and West had sex and I wasn't sure I could get past that—and made me absolutely adore him. The writing was brilliant, an enticing blend of paranormal and fantasy, with great world-building that involved faeries, angels, archangels, gargoyles and demons and intriguing plotlines that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the book. It had soul-crushing, tear-inducing angst near the end, but it was balanced out by the romance, action, hilarious scenes and banter and panty-melting sex between Tao and West. Really, you can't go wrong with this book.
