Twinsie Talks - "I have WAITED and WAITED for this book. OMG the secrets that are spilled. The story of Trapper and Avery is something I never saw coming."
Spunky-n-Sassy - "Never ever have I read a book this perfect."

So here is where I’m going to be completely honest. I know the stories we read aren’t our stories, they’re their author's stories. An author has to write what they see, what they feel. Sometimes a story leads them places they didn’t ever plan or a character evolves into someone different than they began as. Authors create worlds for us to enjoy, places we can explore and lives we can lose ourselves in. It’s an amazing talent, one I respect wholeheartedly and in many ways, envy. How incredible would it be to have the power to entertain so many people with my imagination? So, I know I should never be mad at an author who wrote something that didn’t fit into what I thought or where I personally wanted the story to go. I know this in my head, my heart, however, is a different matter.

When I first began this series, I was so excited to see Chelsea heading in such an unexpected direction with one of her characters. I got hooked on the series right away and anxiously awaited each book, not only for its story but for the brief glance of Trapper's POV, the hint of what was building up to be the final book. I had this image in my mind of what it was going to be about and how it was going to go. I just knew it would be awesome.

When I got the book, I immediately dove in and wow, it did not disappoint. Part 2 (The Past) was so good. It had me crying and I couldn’t help but think this was her best book yet. She captured the emotions so well I could actually feel Mitchell’s pain, his desperation and his drive. Mitchell aka Trapper was brought to life for me while I read what he endured.

I enjoyed discovering who Avery was. The idea of the pain and suffering that was endured, yet Avery was the one person who reached out to Mitchell and truly cared. I knew from the beginning Trapper and Avery were beautiful together. They were meant to be. I couldn’t wait for them to work everything out and find their way back together. But then something changed. We were unexpectedly introduced to a new character.

Instantly, I knew, this wasn’t going to be a story about Avery and Mitchell falling in love again and riding off into the sunset. This was a story about three people falling in love. Nope, this story was not going in the direction I had always believed it would. The picture in my head was destroyed and Bottom Line became something different for me. Honestly speaking, that something different did a number on me and I, unfortunately, couldn’t bring myself to finish it.

Now I’m not saying this to deter people from reading this book. It was well written, flowed nicely and pulled me in. I was able to quickly connect with the characters and the storyline was very entertaining. There is absolutely nothing wrong
with ménage, in my opinion. However, I do not like going into a romance with the intention of reading about a couple who I’ve been waiting to get together only to find there is a third in their bed and their hearts. I’m disappointed and a little heartbroken by this and wish I had had some clue or indication that this would happen.

But alas Bottom Line is not my story. I don’t get to decide what should or shouldn’t be written or where the characters and the story go. As a reviewer it’s my job to look at the overall quality of the work, “Review the book you read -- not the book you wish the author had written.” So personal feelings aside that is what I have done.

I’m giving Bottom Line 4 Stars. I loved Trapper and Avery. Chelsea Camaron created one of my favorite characters in the MC world with Trapper. I will always love him and his crazy antics throughout this series. If I were to ever write fanfic, it would probably be about this wonderful character.
