5 Stars!
I. Loved. Go. To. Hail! So this is only the second book in this particular series by Lani Lynn Vale but I can tell you right now it’s my favorite. I loved Hail No but I literally could not put Go to Hail down. It wasn’t just the main characters or the story but everything. I just found myself connected much more to it.
Travis Hail's is caught in a situation he has no clue how to rectify. Torn between the prospect of happily ever after with a wonderful woman and their children and his evil and vindictive ex-wife and a young daughter who now hates him, he’s completely unhappy. Even worse, Hannah, the love of his life, the woman who just gave him a son, the woman who stands by him at every turn is struggling and unhappy, too. Travis should be sleeping with her every night, instead, he is forced to keep her at arm's length in order to keep her relatively safe.
With his ex-wife poisoning his daughter’s mind while simultaneously trying to ruin Hannah, Travis is about to come unglued. When he finally stands up to her though, the damage that lay in the wake of it all is worse than anyone would’ve imagined.
Okay, I'll admit, I was very torn over Travis for a while there. I loved him and then I was frustrated with him and mad at him and then back to love again. Travis is definitely not perfect, he makes some big mistakes (some of which pissed me off). In his defense though, he was dragged through coals over and over by Allegra. Allegra was pretty much evil and I couldn’t stand her in the least. It broke my heart to see how she tormented Travis and how she was when it came to their daughter Alex.
My heart obviously broke for Hannah as well. She did not deserve what was happening to her. The fact that because she loved Travis so much she just continued to stick by him no matter what, even as Allegra screwed up Hannah’s life too, displayed how much she truly loved him. Hannah had a strength I’m not sure I could’ve found. it. She did everything to take care of her little family with Travis even when she questioned whether things would ever get better.
Lani Lynn Vale did such a great job with this story. The writing was great, the chemistry between the characters was hot and the secondary characters left me wanting to read the rest of the series Right. Now! I totally recommend Go to Hail.
