Danny Friedman knows all about loss. His father left to start a new family and now that his mother passed away, he's even more certain love is only temporary. People always disappoint him in the end, a lesson he learned years ago when his summer camp best friend and secret crush disappeared without a trace, never to be heard from again. Until now.

Fifteen years ago, Paul Merola left everything behind when he ran away with his mother to escape his abusive father. He lived life on the run for years, but never forgot his best friend, Danny. When his job transfers him to the New York City office, the past collides with the present, as Paul finds himself face to face with Danny, who works there as well. To Paul's dismay, a reluctant Danny makes it clear he has little desire to rekindle their friendship.

Despite Danny's desire to learn what happened all those years ago, he refuses to fall victim to Paul's charm, fearing he's being used to get ahead. Paul, finally secure enough to stay and put down roots, must convince Danny that there is more to them than a broken promise. Not only does he want to be friends again, he wants love. He wants forever. And he wants it all with Danny.

This story first appeared in the It Was Always You Anthology. It has been re-edited and expanded by approximately 5,000 words.

4.5 Stars!

Danny Friedman has been left behind all his life, first by his father leaving them, then his mother dying and finally, his best friend from summer camp disappearing on him when he needed him the most.

Paul Merola had to leave it all behind to escape from his abusive father with his mother. Now, 15 years later and with a new job, he finds himself with a second chance at making things right with his childhood's best friend and maybe get a shot at love at the same time, if only Danny would agree to listen to him.

This was such a sweet story of second chances. I loved both Danny and Paul and think they had great chemistry. I especially liked that Paul had to work a bit to get Danny to give him a chance. It was cute!

Recommendable!

Hot Date

Once again, Julian Cornell is at the zenith of his career; not only have his designs helped the young men and women in the burn unit, he’s about to ink an exclusive deal with the hottest model for his new high-fashion menswear collection. Everything is perfect except his husband doesn’t understand how important it all is to him, and the model might want more than just to walk the runway in Julian’s clothing.

Nick Fletcher has never been the jealous type; he’s always been confident his place is right by his husband’s side. But now that Julian is about to re-launch his fashion line, Nick fears Julian might be sucked back into a world of beautiful people and wonder what he’s missed being married to a less-than perfect man like Nick.

Leave it up to two meddling friends who think they know best to arrange a hot date guaranteed to put the spice back in Julian and Nick’s marriage, enabling them to remember that what lies beyond the surface is a lifetime of love.

4.5 Stars

Relationships take work, even those filled with lots of love. It's been two years and now that Julian's career is taking off again, Nick is left feeling like he doesn't fit into Julian's life anymore. Can they fix their marriage before irreparable damage is done?

I loved Nick and Julian's story, so I was happy to see this was an addition to their story. Although I wanted to strangle Julian throughout a good portion of the story for being a twatwaffle, this was an enjoyable read. Felice recaptured the chemistry between Nick and Julian. I loved getting to revisit some of the Breakfast Club guys, especially Zach, he is definitely my favorite of them all.

A sexy addition to the series. Recommendable!

I have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. I started reading traditional historical romances when I was a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn’t until I picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth’s court that my interest in romance novels became renewed.
But somewhere along the way, my tastes shifted. While I still enjoys a juicy Historical romance, I began experimenting with newer, more cutting edge genres and discovered the world of Male/Male romance. Once I picked up her first, I became so enamored of the authors, the character-driven stories and the overwhelming emotion of the books, I knew I wanted to write my own.
I live in New York City with my husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of my own. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be angst along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.
