I wasn’t sure what I was getting into at first since I hadn’t read anything by Crystal Daniels or Sandy Alvarez but I couldn’t pass up Undaunted after reading the blurb. I’m a sucker for a good MC romance so nothing makes me happier than finding one that keeps me entertained and on the edge of my seat. There is a great story here and it was easy to get invested in the characters right away.
This is Logan and Bella's story and like all great MC books, it’s a combination of romance, drama and action. The chemistry between the two is excellent and I loved Logan. He’s the quintessential biker, the VP of the Kings of Retribution motorcycle club. He grew up in the life and loves the freedom of being able to jump on his bike and drown himself in the many women around. At the same time, Logan can’t escape his past.
I liked Bella, she’s not weak like so many women in these stories and I enjoyed her feistiness. The fact that she sacrificed her dreams of college and a better future in order to provide a better life for her sister endeared her to me even more.
The writing was good and I enjoyed the overall story. I felt that the pacing sometimes was off, however. It would move at a great pace at one point and then another I felt like it began to drag. I wished for a little more consistency in that respect but other than that these two authors did a great job of introducing a new series into this genre. I will be waiting for the next book in this series for sure but until then I excitedly recommend Undaunted.
