After being stood up at the altar, compulsive over-planner Elliott Chandler decides to turn his honeymoon on Oahu into a vacation for one. Fate puts a hitch in his plans, however, when the airport is snowed in and his flight is delayed.
In the terminal, the jilted groom catches the eye of another stranded traveler: the laidback and very sexy Derek Windsor. Derek breaks the ice and strikes up a conversation, and as the temperature drops outside, the heat between them rises. Pity they’re both going to different islands, but if their flight doesn’t get off the ground fast, Mr. Calm-and-Cool may just tempt Mr. Play-It-Safe into doing something reckless.
And that plane isn’t going anywhere any time soon…

This was a reread for me. When I saw the tour request in our email box, I told my co-blogger, Mari, “I don’t remember a lot about the book, but I do remember that I loved it”. So, I decided I wanted to give Elliot and Derek a revisit, and I wasn’t disappointed. I loved their story just as much the second time around.
After being left at the altar, Elliot decides to take his Hawaiian honeymoon alone. Snowed in at the Seattle Airport he meets Derek. The two talk and have dinner together, and after an overnight flight delay that leads to a steamy one-night stand, Derek invites Elliot to change his plans and spend his vacation with him on the island of Maui, where Derek lives.
Elliot and Derek click instantly and spend a fun-filled two weeks, exploring the island and each other, but will they be able to walk away and go back to their separate lives?
I loved Elliot and Derek. They were both such likable and fun guys, and I loved watching them grow throughout the story. Elliot is a strict planner and it was fun watching him be spontaneous. While Derek is a player, who never plans to settle down and commit, but meeting Elliot changes his life, as well as his perspective on love and relationships.
Although Elliot and Derek meet under unusual circumstances, and theirs is an instalove, it works for them. I never felt that their relationship was rushed, the progression felt right and natural. They had amazing chemistry and although they spend plenty of time doing indoor activities, I loved the tropical setting of this story.
This story is a pretty light and low angst read, filled with tons of sweet kisses, something that L.A. Witt is a master at writing, as well as plenty of passionate and hot sex, with just a bit of family drama thrown in for good measure.

The Changing Plans Collection consists of three books through which Elliott and Derek meet, fall in love and finally find their HEA. It's not an easy path, seeing as when they meet Elliott has just been left at the altar by his then-boyfriend of 6 years and Derek has an allergy to relationships. However, Derek starts talking to Elliott while they're waiting at the airport and after a hotter than hot night that was supposed to be a one-night-stand, Derek convinces Elliott to change his plans and come with him to a different Hawaiian island than he originally planned for his honeymoon.
I really liked both Elliott and Derek, they were flawed and realistic, with amazing chemistry and while their relationship was instalust/instalove, well, it worked great for them. I loved Elliott's slow realization that he wasn't as in love with his fiancé as he thought, and that whatever was happening with Derek wasn't really a rebound relationship. And of course, I adored that while Derek had never really cared to have a relationship with anyone else, his connection with Elliott made him realize they had something special, something worth cultivating despite the fact they lived so far away. It didn't hurt that the men were super passionate and while there's a lot of sex in this book, I didn't skim through any of it, which I will admit I do sometimes.
Regarding the audiobook, I just had to listen to this one when I noticed it was narrated by Charlie David. His voice is so sexy and really, he could pretty much read the phone book and I'd be drooling, so you can imagine when he reads the sex scenes and the kissing Ms. Witt is so good at writing, right? OMG!
Much as I enjoy Charlie David's narrations, sometimes I found myself confused over who's talking when because the voices for the main characters tend to be very similar. That doesn't make it any less enjoyable, it just means I need to pay better attention or repeat certain parts until it's clear who is talking.
All in all, this is a hot, sexy audiobook, very enjoyable and entertaining that I have no trouble recommending!

About The Author
L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. And definitely don’t tell Lori A. Witt or Ann Gallagher. Neither of those twits can keep their mouths shut…
