Book Review: Sunrise with You by Alina Popescu (Giveaway)

SUNRISE WITH YOU
by Alina Popescu
LOVER’S JOURNEY, BOOK 2.5

Someone’s always stirring up trouble in paradise…

Six months after becoming lovers, Sebastian and Edi are still riding their blissful high. Secluded in Cambridge, away from past nuisances and homophobic jerks, switching from best friends to boyfriends was easy. Yet when faced with Romania’s realities, things get a little shaky.

A trip to Bucharest to clear out Edi’s apartment brings out all their doubts and fears about their new relationship. Edi’s ex, Robert, pursues him relentlessly, Edi’s bosses are doing a marvelous job at driving him into an early grave, and Seba finds himself pushed away.

After pining over Edi for most of his life and seeing him go back to Robert again and again, Seba can’t help but fear the worst. Not used to being shut out by Edi, he fears they are doomed to fail.

The romantic vibes of Valentine’s Day remind them of their true feelings. But will their love be enough in the long run?

4.5 Stars

I absolutely love Seba and Edi and I was so excited that Alina had added another story to their journey to their HEA. Like the other books in the series, it was a very angsty read.

Seba and Edi have been through so much and heading back to Bucharest to pack up Edi’s apartment, so they can start their lives together in the UK, is not without its hurdles, but although I sat on the edge of my seat biting my nails and pulling my hair throughout this story, I think they come out on the other side stronger and more solid and in love than ever. They left me smiling and with all the warm and fuzzies in the end.

The story was well-written, flowed well and the chemistry, love and passion between Edi and Seba is perfectly recaptured in this leg of their journey. I hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen of these guys, but hopefully under less stressful circumstances and of course, without Robert, whom I want to murder, slowly, so he suffers. I thought of pushing him off a cliff or hitting him with my car, but I think a quick death would be too kind for that jackass.

Sorry, I got off track, Robert makes me a bit crazy. This was a angsty, yet sweet and sexy read that I thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely recommend!
