Nick Jorgensen is a quirky genius. He's made a fortune in the competitive high tech field with his quick mind and attention to detail. He believes in hard work and trusting his gut. And he believes in karma. It’s the only thing that makes sense. People are difficult, but numbers never lie. In the disastrous wake of a broken engagement to an investor’s daughter, Nick is more certain than ever he isn’t relationship material.

Wes Conrad owns a thriving winery in Napa Valley. The relaxed atmosphere is a welcome departure from his former career as a high-rolling businessman. Wes’s laid-back nature is laced with a fierceness that appeals to Nick. In spite of his best intention to steer clear of complications, Nick can’t fight his growing attraction to the sexy older man who seems to understand him. Even the broken parts he doesn’t get himself. However, when Wes’s past collides with Nick’s present, both men will have to have to decide if they’re ready to lean into the ultimate fall.

5 Big Huge Stars!

Oh, how I loved this story! I personally loved it a lot more than the first book in the series. I am a huge fan of Nick, I adored him and I'm not ashamed to say I want to hug him so bad. He may have been a jerk in book one (although I didn't think he was too awful) but you can really see what makes him the way he is in this book. I also loved Wes and though there is one part of the book where he made me angry I was able to get over it and fall for him all over again.

The great thing about this one is the fact that I actually wasn't just invested in the romance which was in Lane Hayes fashion, wonderful, but I found myself just as invested on what was happening in Nick's work, Wes's winery and between Eric and Zane, as well as Josh, who I hope is next in line for a story. I love these characters. They bring so much life to the world Lane has created and there are many possibilities for her men.

Before I get too far ahead of myself, though, I need to express why I loved Nick and Wes.

Nick is one of those men who you either love, because you can understand him or you hate, because you haven't quite figured him out. He's not innately a jerk but he is incapable of truly understanding people especially when it comes to somewhat complex social cues, applying a filter and controlling his impulses. I quickly came to the conclusion that he most likely suffers from ASD and would benefit greatly from speaking with someone who specializes in that area. He alluded to being abnormal, mentally disabled or possibly insane and that gave an excuse for people to treat him the way they did. It pissed me off because I hated seeing people treat him like he had no heart. One thing Nick had was a heart.

Wes was the older more sophisticated one, at least on the outside. On the inside, though, he was just as lost as Nick, he was just able to navigate the waters more smoothly. His maturity and patience were what was needed with Nick and his ability to let a lot of things roll off his back when it came to Nick's behavior had me melting. He also was the only one to mention that Nick might have Aspergers. That all combined with his sexy Alpha presence was swoon-worthy.

The sexual tension and chemistry between these characters were off the charts. I almost drove off the road listening to one of the scenes (Kindle Text to Speech function) between the two men. It was hot and intense and so well-written. I had to turn it off so I wouldn't end up in a ditch. Lane Hayes has an amazing talent for writing these scenes and creating an addictive story.

Overall, I have to say I highly recommend this book. It's sexy and fun and the characters are absolutely lovable.
