An FBI agent goes undercover to catch a thief who turns out to be too hot to handle.
Darke Davis destroyed evidence to give his partner-in-crime time to flee with thirty-nine million dollars— and Special Agent Flare Greene is determined to get that money back. Hooking up with Darke at a popular gay roadhouse seems like a brilliant way to insinuate his way into Darke's life.
Flare didn't plan on the two of them stumbling over a body and finding themselves on the run from charges of first-degree murder. It's the perfect opportunity to bond with Darke, but if they can't work together to solve these crimes, they may find themselves locked up together for longer than just one night.

4.5 Stars!

Yeah, I have to say, this one got me good. I may have shed a tear at one point for Darke. Yeah, he messed up, fell in love with the wrong person and then threw everything away and ruined his life for that love. But honestly, how many people make mistakes because of love? It happens every single day.

As for Flare, well, I truly felt bad for him because he honestly got a bad deal. I empathize with him and what he did and I can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same thing had I been in his shoes. No one likes to see a disgusting, reprehensible excuse for a human being getting special favors from knowing the right people. Especially not a racist child pornographer who murders innocent children. The fact that Flares actions cost him his future in the FBI truly makes me mad (even if a rational part of my brain understands why).

I have to say Parker Avrile’s writing seems to get better and better with each book and I just love these stories. Darke Accused is different and well executed. It’s gripping and entertaining. I truly found myself caught up in it and didn’t want to stop. I liked that it wasn’t predictable and I was kept on my toes until the end.

Darke and Flare have great chemistry and they seemed to meld perfectly on the page. I loved that we got to see both POV’s and that it was done in a way that I enjoyed and connected to both men equally. I can’t wait to see more of them in the future. To get to know them even more and see what changes life together has had on them.

This isn’t a HEA story, it’s the first in a trilogy. While things look good for the men there is definitely still a lot to work out. I hope it won’t be too hard for them but I have a feeling the author is going to make them work for their HEA.

Overall, I’d definitely say I recommend Darke Accused!
