One Night is the first book in the Nights Series by A.M. Salinger and damn, talk about starting up with a bang!
Gabe accepted a job in Tokyo to escape from his traumatic past and hopefully be able to start anew. After finishing a big job, he treats himself by going to a bar that caters to a gay clientele and there he meets Cam. Despite the fact that he hasn't been able to be with a man in 8 years, Gabe can't deny the attraction to Cam and when Cam asks him for one night to prove to him he could change his mind, Gabe just can't say no.
The chemistry between Gabe and Cam was out of this world from the moment their paths cross, but it runs deeper than just the hot, plentiful sex (and really, you might need to suspend your disbelief a little by the amount of sex these men engage in, but it's soooooo worth it). *fans self* I loved that Cam was so understanding and patient, giving Gabe the time and attention he needed to be able to finally move on from his past. And Gabe was just adorable and sweet.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable novella, which ends up in a sweet HFN that will be concluded in book 3 in the series. I'm already looking forward to book 2, which features Joe, Cam's best friend and Ethan, the bartender at the gay bar where Gabe and Cam met. Very recommendable!
