Book blurb:
Nathan Roberts was just your average polyamorous librarian living in Vancouver until his best friend, Deanna started dating a werewolf. While hosting the small pack in his apartment while they hid from the underground network of Huntsmen, Nathan enjoyed a casual fling with Cole, the pack leader’s brother. But now, he may just be falling for him.
When his neighbor is murdered, Nathan is convinced the death is linked to the supernatural, but Cole and their friends deny any paranormal connection. This leads to a fracture of trust in their relationship, and Cole’s pack is left to deal with an unknown killer on the loose. As Nathan pursues answers on his own, he must come to terms with the truth, and his feelings for Cole.

Later, his arm sore from throwing, Nathan dozed with this head in Deanna’s soft lap. She stroked his hair idly and watched their tireless companions race each other up and down the surf. Ryn’s presence threw the other dogs into a frenzy, as they couldn’t figure out if the strange wolf was pal or predator.
“Are you still looking for others?” Dee asked.
“Hmm?” Nathan blinked his eyes open behind his sunglasses.
“You know.” Dee nodded at Ryn as they led a pack of a half-dozen dogs charging into the waves after a Frisbee. “Were-things, etcetera.”
Wary of where the conversation was headed, Nathan gave a small nod.
“You find anything?”
He sighed. “No. Nothing concrete.” But that didn’t mean they weren’t out there. If werewolves were real, then what else was hiding?
“Unicorns are kind of cliché,” Dee said. “Centaurs though—that would be cool.” She wiggled her eyebrows at Nathan. “I’d bang a centaur.”
“Really?” He pulled his sunglasses down his nose.
Dee blushed. “I dunno! Maybe. If she—or he—was a particularly handsome centaur.”
“Jesus.” Nathan pushed his glasses back up. “If I find them, I’m not telling you.”
“Hey!” Dee pushed him off her lap, and he rolled onto the blanket and folded his hands under his head.
“Fine. But I don’t think Jamie would be into sharing you with a half-horse person.”
Dee considered this. “She might make an exception. Maybe I’ll add centaurs to my list.”
“Please tell me you don’t have an exception list. I thought that was something only straight people did.”
“Not everyone wants to be as open as you,” Dee chided him. “Monogamy is a perfectly acceptable relationship choice and style.”
“A boring one.”
“Oh, I’m not bored,” she said with a coy smirk.
Nathan laughed. “Fine, you two are the exception.”
“I thought you didn’t like exceptions,” Dee teased. Nathan figured it best not to respond. “But actually,” Deanna said, seeming a little wistful. “I’ve always hoped the Ogopogo was real.”
“The what?” Nathan rose up on his elbows. “Who’s the Ogohobo?”
“Ogopogo. I forget sometimes that you’re not from B.C.”
“Thank you.” Nathan pressed a hand to his chest. “I’m touched, honestly. Takes a lot to get the ’burta out of the boy.”
“The Ogopogo is like, Canada’s Loch Ness monster, but with a better name, and I’ve always felt like it’d be way more friendly…”
