Blog Tour ~ Just Add Argyle by KC Burn (Guest Post + Giveaway)

Blog Tour ~ Just Add Argyle by KC Burn (Guest Post + Giveaway)

Hello! I’m KC Burn and I’m thrilled to be here, chatting about my new release, Just Add Argyle, the third in my Fabric Hearts series. It features Jaime Escobar, who has made cameo appearances in the first two books. In Tartan Candy and Plaid versus Paisley, Jaime seems to be a bit of a player, although he’s warm hearted and loves his family. In Just Add Argyle, however, we learn a bit about why people think he’s a player.

Jaime’s a protector at heart. He’s spent most of his adult life protecting his cousin. When Jaime came out as a teen, circumstances prevented his cousin Caleb from also coming out. Without acknowledging it, or discussing or planning, Jaime chose to camp it up a bit for the family as a type of protective camouflage, shielding Caleb from being outed. His protective tendencies also explains his choice to become an EMT, to spend time serving as an army medic. When he returns from overseas, that time changed him, but he doesn’t share those memories, as a form of protecting his friends and family from the hurtful things he experienced.

What people saw as Jaime being fickle was nothing more than Jaime making immediate decisions not to waste anyone’s time with men who weren’t going to make it long term in his life. He wasn’t about to spend time trying to make it work with someone who didn’t bring a spark into his life. No point in trying to get his family – who are super important to him – to get to know a man Jaime isn’t going to keep around.

Enter Tate Buchanan, who, at first glance, is probably the last person any of Jaime’s close-knit family would consider a suitable partner. He’s young, uneducated, unemployed, and had several near-misses with the law for altercations related to his temper. What he is, however, is a fighter. He’s determined to keep on living as best he can, without resorting to criminal behavior… if possible. He gets in fights, sure, but they’re usually in defense of someone who can’t stand up for themselves or is the underdog. And there’s something about him that Jaime admires, which is enough to think maybe Tate is someone he should get to know, someone Jaime might want to keep around.

Although the books in the series occur in chronological order, they can all be read as standalone stories. All three books feature characters just living their lives, hoping to find someone to stand at their back and fight whatever life throws at them, together. They’re regular guys living regular lives, because I whole-heartedly believe that love and romance are for everyone.

So I hope you’ll give Tate and Jaime a try, because I was so happy to finally give Jaime a little romance, and Tate holds a special place in my heart.

Blurb:
Tate Buchanan is a troublemaker who can’t keep a job, no matter how many times his lucky argyle sweater gets him hired. Add to that a learning disability and an impetuous nature that sends him into altercations to protect the defenseless, and he hardly manages to make friends, let alone find a man who’s interested in him for more than one night.

Most people think EMT Jaime Escobar is a player, but the truth is he wants a serious partner—he just can’t justify wasting time on guys he knows aren’t a match. But when he treats a gorgeous redhead after a fight, he finds the spark he’s spent so many years looking for.

Jaime wants to take the next step with Tate, but it’s clear Tate’s not going to curb his impulsive behavior—his next fight sends him to the hospital. Jaime’s relationship with a near criminal isn’t something his family is ready to accept, not any more than Tate is willing to be kept a secret. Jaime will need a lot of understanding—and some luck of his own—to keep them both. But this is one fight he’s going to see through to the end.

Bio:
KC Burn has been writing for as long as she can remember and is a sucker for happy endings (of all kinds).  After moving from Toronto to Florida for her husband to take a dream job, she discovered a love of gay romance and fulfilled a dream of her own -- getting published.  After a few years of editing web content by day, and neglecting her supportive, understanding hubby and needy cat at night to write stories about men loving men, she was uprooted yet again and now resides in California. Writing is always fun and rewarding, but writing about her guys is the most fun she’s had in a long time, and she hopes you’ll enjoy them as much as she does.
