Blurb

Both Ben and Mitch think they know exactly what they want. Turns out, they don’t even know their own hearts. Good old boy Ben has dated women his entire life, while gay nightclub owner Mitch has never considered unsophisticated country boys his type. But after they start hanging out, the small-town contractor and the urban entrepreneur are both stunned by the electricity sparking between them.

As they step outside their comfort zones to spend time together, Mitch finds he enjoys rural car rallies, and Ben is intrigued by the upscale bars Mitch owns in San Francisco. When they share their lives and grow closer, they start to question the way they’ve always defined themselves. Then they kiss and fling open the door to love. Now they must step up and travel the road that may lead to happily ever after—even if that path isn’t one they ever expected to walk.

4 Stars!!!

Waking the Behr is book 7 in the Foothills Pride series and while you can technically read it as a standalone, there are some characters from other books in the series that show up in this one, so I suggest, if possible, reading the previous books first so you don't feel lost.

Ben Behr has always thought he is straight, but when he meets bubbly, sophisticated Mitch, he can't stop feeling attracted to him. Mitch never thought simple, country boys like Ben were his type, but as they start spending time together, he realizes there's more to Ben than he thought at first.

Ben and Mitch were adorable and while opposites in a lot of ways, they had a lot of chemistry and were sweet together. It was fun to see Ben waking up and realizing he never was really straight, and see Mitch realize that perhaps he'd been looking for love in the wrong places.

This was a very sweet addition to the series, an enjoyable slow-burn, low-heat romance with lovable characters. Recommendable!
