What’s a Viking to do when he ends up on a Florida beach, surrounded by a world he doesn’t understand, with a hyperactive stockbroker as his only guide? Go back to Chase’s hotel, naturally. Chase thinks Bjorn is eccentric at best, a lunatic at worst, or just maybe the real thing: a Viking from the days of yore. It isn’t easy for Bjorn to admit, but he needs Chase’s help to navigate the confusing modern age. While Chase is trying to clean Bjorn up and help him fit in, Bjorn’s sworn enemy also makes the trek through time. Jorund is eager to plunder this new land and finish the job of killing Bjorn’s family line, all in one blow. Bjorn and Chase will have to set aside their vast differences and work together if either of them wants to survive.
First Edition published by Torquere Press, 2007.

Bjorn is thrust into the future during a ravaging storm. Unaccustomed to his new surroundings, he is immediately found by Chase who offers him safety in his hotel room. Chase assumes Bjorn is recovering from a long hard night of drinking and decides the least he can do is offer him a place to sober up. The more he realizes that Bjorn is seriously awed by his surroundings, the more apparent it becomes that Bjorn is not from this time.  Now Chase will have to figure out what to do with a real life Viking and Bjorn will have to come to terms with being in the future.

This is a quick easy read that I have to admit was a lot of fun. The first few pages went a little over my head and I wasn't sure what to expect but it quickly sucked me in and had me smiling.  While the story really only takes place over a day or two we get some great scenes between Bjorn and Chase.

I liked both characters a lot. Their voices were well done and it was easy to see them in my head as I imagined the story.  They had great chemistry and not just in a sexual way but their time together out of the bed as well.  I loved Chase explaining that Bjorn needed to take a shower and what happened. It was a laugh out loud moment.  The ending was cute as well and really I wished there would have been more. I would have loved to see more of Bjorn having to learn our ways.

I am going to recommend this story for a nice light read. We don't have angst really but it's got that fantasy element that a lot of people like.

I definitely will pick up another book from this author.
