“Fantastic characters, a well thought, laid out story line and darker erotic heat make this a must read!” ~Gaynor, Goodreads Reviewer

“5 stars for the unique story with a dark twist.” ~Ashley, Goodreads Reviewer

~BLURB~

Unknown
I watch him from the shadows, capturing his essence through a tiny lens.
Every inch of his skin I have committed to memory, I know his body as well as my own.
I’m waiting for the right moment to let him catch sight of me.
Just like the way he seized my attention so long ago.

Thomas
Unease and fear are my constant companion; a side effect of the eyes I can sense on me, watching my every move.
I don’t know how to make the feeling stop.
The not knowing if someone is lurking out there, just waiting for me to drop my guard is making me lose my mind.

Mason
I wish I could tell Thomas how he makes me feel.
The feelings that I hide are consuming me, making it harder to face him.
I’ve wanted him for years, but never found the strength to admit the truth.
The lie is getting harder to tell, and every day I feel myself starting to slip.

This was not your typical romance. It was dark and suspenseful and is definitely one of those books that makes you question your sanity a bit. The characters are detailed but a few things are kept from the reader and it kept me guessing in the story. The authors did a great job of turning a bad character into someone that you sympathize with a little bit.

I loved every chapter we got from Unknown because of how messed up he was. I kept wondering how far he was going to go to accomplish his goals. And then we get Thomas and Mason and the dynamic was interesting and kept me wanting to see how the story played out. There were a few things that I wish were addressed in the story and I wanted to get a few more things cleared up by the end. However, I was content with the ending and the twist!

Lots of potential but just missed the mark for me.

So I love a good dark romance and I was completely intrigued by the idea of this particular story. From the very first page I was anxious to figure out who this stalker referred to as Unknown was but as I got further along in the story, I honestly started to realize it was obvious and I wasn’t exactly excited by it. I won’t give away their identity and ruin it for readers but I’ll be honest, after finding out whodunnit I wasn’t all that pleased with how the story was resolved.

What I Loved: The idea, the premise and the blurb. I find it all very interesting and I definitely think it’s an awesome theme for a story.

What I Liked: for the most part, I liked Mason and Thomas okay, but I never truly felt like I connected with either of them. I was definitely skeptical by their friendship because it seemed it was supposed to be deep, they were the best of friends but really it came off as superficial most of the time. Had the story been longer and meatier, I think I would’ve like Mason much more (I’d want him to be a little smarter though).

What I Didn’t Like: well, this is where I have to say, it’s a matter of personal opinion but I hate present tense. I always end up thinking the flow of the story just doesn’t feel right. It either moves too fast leaving me wanting more or it moves at a glacial pace making me want to bang my head on a wall. Sometimes things get lots of detail, other times not nearly enough. It pretty much drives me insane.

I was not at all a fan of how Thomas handled his stalker in the beginning.
(Please hover over the blank space with your mouse or click on the screen with your phone to read, proceed at your own risk 😉 ) There is one scene in which he wakes to find semen on his butt and realizes someone broke into his home and ejaculated on him. Now I don’t know about you but (no pun intended) I’d be on the phone to the police, does he do that? No, he takes a shower and goes over to his BFF’s house to stay there until he can get his locks changed. Dude, this is assault. Someone came all over your butt while you were sleeping. You have no clue who could be doing this to you or what diseases they may have or if this is just the beginning and things will ESCALATE. Call 911!
Also, let’s talk about Vivian, Thomas’s girlfriend. Really Thomas?! He actually mentions marrying her. Yet everyone (and I mean everyone) can see she’s a horrible person who only cares about herself and partying. Thomas doesn’t even seem to like her so what is the point of her? 🤬

In the end, I can’t really say I’ll be screaming from the rooftops about this one. I think some people will like or love it, others will feel like me. What I can say however is that I was entertained and am a little psyched at the idea of reading some more stories similar to this one.
