Sometimes the heart is the most important sense. Caring for a young daughter with cancer is almost enough to make Ken Brighton give up, in Love Comes Silently, but former singer and next-door neighbor Patrick Flaherty brings hope for both of them—if he can manage to break his silence. In Love Comes in Darkness, Howard Justinian has always had to fight for his independence, in spite of his blindness, but when tragedy strikes, he may have to accept help in the form of unassuming Gordy Jarrett. In Love Comes Home, Greg Hampton’s son Davey is losing his eyesight, but Tom Spangler isn’t going to let that stop a boy from playing his favorite game.

Senses Volume 1 is the first three books in Andrew Grey's Senses series. Book 1, Love Comes Silently, is about single father Ken who is caring for his young daughter with leukemia. Next door neighbor, Patrick is drawn to his new neighbors.  Though Patrick doesn't know what the man and his daughter are going through, he knows it's an illness and goes out of his way to secretly provide surprises and make their lives easier.  Because Patrick is unable to speak, he's unable to tell Ken how he feels and instead he has his actions speak for himself.

Book 2, Love Comes in Darkness, Howard has fought to be independent all of his life. He was born blind and was coddled until he finally broke away for college. In a really crappy move by his soon-to-be-ex, he meets Gordy. Gordy is kind and gentle. He is attracted to Howard and when presented with the opportunity to attend a cookout that he knows Howard will be at, he takes it. Gordy has no interest in controlling Howard, he just wants to be with him. Tragedy strikes and Howard and Gordy's new relationship is put to the test, along with Howard's faith in his independence.

Book 3, Love Comes Home, single father Greg's son is losing his eyesight and nothing can stop his blindness. At a cookout of his friends Patrick and Ken, he meets Tom. Tom is attracted to the Greg. Tom was raised in a wealthy family and spends his life helping others. Tom can't fix Davey's eyesight but he comes up with ways to help make Greg and Davey's lives happier.

I loved these books and characters! The characters from the previous stories were integral to the following books which I really love! These books are filled with emotional and heartbreaking stories of men living life. The characters are so real and relatable. They're great guys who are kind, caring, loving, supportive and coming together to create a family.

I can't wait to read the other books in this series! If you haven't read the Senses series, I highly recommend you do. Just have some tissues on hand!
