New Release Review: Campy (Ballsy Boys #4) by K.M. Neuhold & Nora Phoenix

What will happen when my secrets are exposed?

I’m lying to my mom about how I make my living.
I’m lying to the Ballsy Boys about my life.
I’m lying to myself about who I am.

I pretend to be Campy, but I am Cameron. But does anyone even know the real me?

When I meet my new roommate, a sexy Texan cowboy and break-out TV star named Jackson, all my lies start to come out. He makes me want to be myself, but I’ve spun so many lies that I don’t even know who I am anymore. The more I fall for him, the more I worry that all my secrets will destroy us before we have a chance to be together.

Good thing Jackson has a stubborn streak and won’t give up so easily.

What a comeback! I fell in love with the Ballsy Boys with Rebel. But the love affair waned a bit with Heart’s book. That one fell a bit flat for me, but, what a rebound with Campy. It's a romantic and beautiful opposites-attract, friends to lovers, and gay-for-you (a little) love story. The book’s namesake, Campy (aka Cameron), is living a very secretive existence - taking care of his sick mom, doing gay porn to support her financially even though he considers himself straight, and pursuing his love of animals at a rescue center. This city boy is slowly being torn apart by his secrets. Needing money, he rents his guest room out. His new roommate is Jackson, a good ole Southern Baptist from Texas just arriving in LA to pursue his dreams of being an actor. It’s love at first sight for Jackson, but Campy is in denial of his attraction to Jackson and bisexuality until one of my favorite Ballsy Boys schools him and causes a panic attack. Once Campy admits his desires, their social differences cause several bumps along the way to their happily ever after.

This story is so well-written. The characters are completely charming, adorable and loveable. The storyline is intriguing, unique (even to this series) and easy-to-read. The ending gave me all the feels. There is nothing predictable about the plot, although it is quite the slow-burn. However, Campy’s profession brings the sexy times regardless, so no worries there. I think what I liked the most was Campy and Jackson’s relationship. Their banter and innate understanding the other was amazing. They truly were the other’s half.

The timing of this story intermixes with the previous ones. So it was cool seeing different points of view to the storylines.

I need Pixie and Bear’s book now, please!!!

It is so fitting that the first book I finished in 2019 is one I have been waiting on since the second I finished Heart! I loved it so much I couldn't put it down even in my mom's physical therapy appointment!

I have to say even though Campy wasn’t in the top running of my favorite Ballsy Boys, I still really liked him, but after reading this I totally take that back. Campy was so much more than I ever thought he would be and I am so glad I was mistaken. He is so sweet and brave and willing to do everything he can to care for the ones he loves.

Jackson was adorable! The way he spoke resonated so much that I could hear it clearly in my head (does that make me sound crazy?... Oh well). His innocent way of looking at things was so good and somehow worked so well when he interacted with Cam that it made him so much sweeter.

K.M & Nora have got to be one of my favorite author duos I have had the pleasure of coming across and I cannot wait 'til the next book is released.
