One burned and broken man finds his way home. Can he find peace in the arms of a man easy to love?

Justin made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, battling domestic terrorism, never the man he really was, using hate to avenge the death of his best friend. The friend he'd killed.

What he doesn’t count on is getting shot, and if he's going to die he wants it to be on Crooked Tree soil. Home.

Sam is as much a part of Crooked Tree as any of the families, and the offer to buy into the ranch is a dream come true. But falling for a hidden, secretive, injured man isn’t the way to keep his head in the game.

A Cowboy's Home is part of the Montana series and should be read in order. You can find my reviews for book 1 here and for book 2 here.

Justin learns he's been lied to by one of his superiors, Saunders, who told him that his best friend Adam had died and that his family was in danger if he came back to them, to recruit him into their undercover group. When he gets shot by Saunders and is certain he'd die, he comes back to Crooked Tree, knowing that there's nowhere else he'd rather draw his last breath in.

Sam has been running Branches, Crooked Tree's restaurant, for a while, and there's nothing he'd like more than to remain there for whatever time he has left. When he's offered to buy into the business, he readily agrees, knowing he's found the place where he can feel peace and some measure of happiness. Finding a scarred, injured man in one of the cabins and slowly falling for him wasn't in the equation, but perhaps it was just what he needed.

Each new book into the series has been better than the previous, as the mystery of Adam and Justin's disappearance became clearer and we learn more of each of the characters. It was amazing to see most of the faces we'd already met and getting to meet a few new ones in this installment.

Sam was so lovely and supporting, but he didn't let Justin just trailblaze over him, which was really nice to see. Justin was full of guilt and remorse and my heart broke over all he'd gone through, but he just couldn't stay away from Sam. I just loved the connection between them, it was really heartwarming to see Sam knowing instinctively how to help Justin and see how drawn to Sam Justin was. They had great chemistry, too, and I adored them together.

A fabulous addition to the series, very detailed-oriented and character-driven, filled with emotion, suspense and lovable characters that I can't get enough of, which makes the fact there'll be another book in it, a delicious surprise! Very recommendable!

Rating: 5 Stars!!!
