Author Interview:
What interests you about the BDSM dynamic in a relationship? For me, BDSM is a very strong vehicle for telling a story because there has to be a deep emotional connection between the Dom and sub by the end. Along the way, as the couple uses the playroom to connect sexually, there is also a deep emotional bond of trust and love which develops. Both men are exposing themselves in a very fundamental way as the book plays out in the playroom and that makes for a powerful opportunity to capitalize on the growth of their feelings for each other as they increase.
Did you do a lot of research for this book?
Yes, for this particular book, I did a lot of research on the lifestyle. I have friends in BDSM, submissives and Doms and I interviewed them and researched on the net. I had written two other BDSM’s prior to this book which were (The Slave’s Mask and Over the Road) but this was my first novel length BDSM and I wanted to get it right. I joined fetlife.com which is a site for BDSM’ers sort of where folks who are into the same kink, can connect. I found it fascinating.
What inspired you to write this book?
As I began my Silvers series, I realized that I wanted to write Zack’s story (he had appeared in one short story “Hot Summer Hogs”) and I wanted to give him his own book. I paired him, the Dom, with one hot cop, Cassidy, the sub, who was in another story of mine and the two had such explosive chemistry, I knew they’d be fantastic together.
What is your favorite genre to read?
That’s pretty obvious. LOL. MM BDSM by far
Do you have a library card, and if so, do you know where it is?
Yes, I do. It’s in my wallet but I haven’t used it in about 2 years. I pretty much live with my Kindle beside me at all times ☺
