Nick and Cameron face old demons, and find new love, on a Christmas road trip.

Former Marine Nick Sheridan is at a crossroads. With his entire life ahead of him he struggles to find direction and his place in the world. Car sharing to get home for his sister’s Christmas wedding seems like a good idea at first. Spending the time with the man he kissed and left years before, maybe not so much.

Cameron Bennett lost most of his teenage years to cancer and he now lives every day to the fullest. He decides to drive from Seattle to Vermont for his best friend’s wedding and capture moments of it on film. He hadn’t planned on car sharing with the man who kissed him ten years ago, but somehow he ends up with a brooding Nick by his side.

Along the way, the men learn that sometimes life plans mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. Love can be found in the most unexpected of ways, and facing your demons head on is sometimes the only way to live.

The Road to Frosty Hollow is a road trip forcing Nick and Cameron together again after years of separation. The trip was planned by Nick's sister, who is Cameron's best friend. She knows that Cameron has had a crush on Nick all these years and that Nick needs a change in his life. She puts together an itinerary with stops that are supposed to help the men reconnect. The men have a lot of awkwardness from a kiss they shared when they were younger and lack of communication has caused misunderstandings.

The first part of this book was difficult to get into. There wasn't a lot of dialog, just the men's internal thoughts as they went about their road trip and their destinations. I would have liked more information in regards to their character. Nick had left the marines after 8 years and had some type of injury and was struggling with what comes next in his life. Cameron had just gotten out of a bad relationship, seemed to have a great job, and was struggling because he thought his childhood cancer may have come back. They both remembered the kiss from years ago differently.

But, the road trip serves its intention and does force the guys to be together and eventually have them admit to their attraction and by the end of the trip, they're in love with each other. This was a quick read, had some fun road trip activities, a HEA and an epilogue that showed things were going well for the guys a year later.

Rating: 4 stars
