I really enjoyed these fun and quirky stories. We follow a couple o mysteries throughout the storyline and with those mysteries, we get some sprinkles of humor and sexy times. Every character is so unique and appealing in their own way. Sam is a bit negative at times and his constant state of exasperation at the beings around him is hilarious. He is also a great character because even with those things, he is a good person and wants to help. While reading, I just kept thinking of how authentic he was. Bob is pushy and overly enamored by Sam and does not let social rules stop him from being a little over the top with his affection for Sam. This leads to some entertaining interactions between the two of them. Then we have Teddy the ghost, Smudge the cat and also a gargoyle who are all just as interesting as the main characters.
The world building in these books is SO much more than I expected and I was pleasantly surprised by just how much I connected to it immediately. We get bits and pieces throughout the story because the POV is primarily through Sam and he is learning right along with the reader. For me, this book was not very serious but a fun read that I zipped through. Even saying that, it was truly lovely. There are serious situations but there was a lightness that made it not too angsty and the story was very evenly distributed between the cases Sam was working on and the more lighthearted interactions between the characters.
I liked that the storylines were carried over to book two in this volume and we got to see them play out without anything feeling rushed. We also get a couple of new POVs from Hart and Dan that I enjoyed. It was a nice mix-up and I very much appreciated the author still giving us Sam's POV because I am still so invested in his character. I am excited to see what new paranormals Sam meets next!

This was another great addition to the End Street series. I enjoyed seeing Mikhail find his mate in Jin and I loved still being able to get Sam's POV. At this point, I have a bit of an attachment to Sam and Bob so it is nice that they are still a big part of these stories. In book one in this volume, we follow Mikhail and Jin and I did not expect to for one, find a dragon in this series and also be so intrigued by the dragon culture. There are some pretty cool scenes where Jin describes how they do certain things as dragons that reiterates how well these authors have built the world we are experiencing in these books.
Then we get Zeph and Nick which both have their own interesting backstories, especially Nick. There are so many connecting pieces in these books between all of the characters that make it constantly entertaining. For me, these books are sort of low key hilarious. There is the constant struggle for Sam not wanting to admit that he is more than just human. And with that, everyone around him pretty much lets him think this and discourages any questions from newcomers. We have all of the sassy comments from Sam and Bob's incessant love and protectiveness of Sam that makes Sam roll his eyes and huff at but also smile at the same time.
I like the mysteries we get in each book and how well the authors balance those storylines with us getting to know the new characters. These books are shorts and yet I do not feel like I am being cheated of details. There is insta-love but the fated mates concept makes it flow very fluidly in the story. This series is perfect if you want just a little bit of everything in your reading!

These books are just fun for me! We get a little bit more of Sam and Bob in these which I appreciated because I am a bit obsessed with them. They are entertaining as always and in this volume, we got to see more of their dedication to each other. There were more complex emotions in these two books and I liked seeing that different and more vulnerable side of Sam and Bob. There is the perfect amount of mystery, humor and snarky banter to make these an easy and enjoyable read.
I loved seeing the fae triplets again and getting to know them a little bit more. Like most of the characters in this series, they are a little mysterious and it was nice to see them interact with Sam a bit more. Each road for the characters to find or be reconnected with their fated mate is unique. The storylines of Hal and Idris and Teddy and Ettore were interesting and super sweet.
It seems like this may be the last of Sam and Bob, I hope not!! Overall this was a solid and original series that will definitely be on my reread list!

When she told her husband what she wanted to do with her life, he told her to go have fun.
During those seconds she isn't writing, she remembers she has children who humor her with games of 'what if' and let her drag them to foreign lands to gather inspiration. Her youngest confided in her that he wants to write because he longs for a website and an author name—two things apparently necessary to be a proper writer.
Despite her husband's insistence she doesn't drink enough to be a true literary genius, she continues to spin stories of people falling happily in love and staying that way.
She is thwarted during the day by a traffic jam of cats on the stairway and a puppy who insists on walks, but she bravely perseveres.
