The Case of the Purple Pearl is book 5 in the End Street Series and it needs to be read in order.
Sam is surprised when a human approaches him to investigate if his boyfriend is cheating on him, considering he's been working only for paranormals since he re-opened the agency. The case sounds fairly straight forward at first, until Sam and Bob realize that the boyfriend is cheating with a fae, who might be the soulmate for Sam's gargoyle, who is really a fae cursed by the Fairy Queen. They just have a really short time to try to save Halstein before he becomes a gargoyle forever, but are they prepared for the price they might need to pay in order to do so?
This book was angstier than the previous ones and yet it still captured the magic that is Sam and Bob. They really are amazing together, and even when Bob is keeping secrets that might threaten their relationship, I just love them both. It was also awesome to finally have a broader idea as to what Sam really is and the extent of his powers.
This was a fantastic addition to the series, and so far, my favorite book in it. It was fast-paced and more emotional than the others, the case was intriguing and I loved how the authors are tying all we've seen in the previous books with it. I'm definitely looking forward to book 6. Highly recommendable!

This is probably the most heart-wrenching story of the series so far and I won't lie and say I wasn't scared a bit for Sam and Bob. I am such a Bob fan and it would be impossible not to love Sam, so let me just say I want to see them happy no matter what. With that said this is a great addition to the End Street Series and I can't wait for book 6.
Book 5 picks up pretty much where the previous book left off, Sam and Bob are trying to figure out what Gargoyle really is. Sam is approached by a human man who wants to hire him to find out if his boyfriend is cheating on him. Thinking this will be an easy one, he takes on the case. Utilizing an enchanted camera Sam snaps a photo of their mark and another mysterious man. When the photo reveals that the mysterious man is the soul mate of Gargoyle, Sam and Bob are thrust into a modern day fairytale.
Star-crossed lovers, Fae Royalty, curses and spells and a whole list of paranormal characters this is definitely the hardest case Sam has seen so far. If you're a fan of The End Street Series you have to pick up this latest book. I highly recommend!
