Blog Tour ~ Hide and Seek by TM Smith ~ (Reviews, Teasers, Song and Scene, Playlist + Giveaway)
Dusty Anderson left his hometown in Justin, Texas for the Big Apple not long after graduating high school with dreams of becoming an actor. A year later, no closer to realizing his dream but pretty damn close to being broke, he comes across a flyer in a local gay bar that provides a solution to his dilemma. Six years later, Dusty has all but forgotten his dream to be an actor. The family he gained when he went to work at All Cocks and the job itself are enough for him, for now at least.
David Thompson is barely twenty-one, high on life and starting his second year at NYU as an Art student. Now that he is old enough to enjoy the city’s night life, David finds his first crush at a local hot spot in the village, The Monster Bar. Young love is laid to rest though, when David comes out to his mother and older brother with disastrous results.
A tragic incident at the hands of David’s brother changes the course of all of their lives and brings the two together, but is it coincidence or fate? Regardless of unlikely circumstance, Dusty is inexplicably drawn to David, who suddenly finds himself alone in the world. Protective of David from the start, Dusty realizes his extended family at All Cocks and his best friend Kory will not understand this new relationship. Fearing the worst, Dusty plays a dangerous game of hide and seek, risking everything to keep David safe and sheltered.
But hiding can only last for so long, and David and Dusty aren’t the only ones dealing with uncertainties. The Dimir men find that the one thing they’ve longed for might be within reach and Dusty’s father, Dean, arrives in town unexpectedly with secrets of his own. Truths come out and trust is put to the test. Can the All Cocks family find the happiness they deserve?
This is the 6th book in the All Cocks stories series, the series would read best if read in order, but each book can be read as a standalone story.

"This was a sweet story, aside from the bad things David must overcome, and I was not disappointed with any of it. The All Cocks family continues to grow, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next."
- Just Jen from The Blogger Girls
"This series is fabulous. Each set of men have their own trials and tribulations and are connected like a large family. Each time a read a story in this book I say this is my favorite. They just get better and better. I have no idea how T.M. Smith will top this but I can't wait to see."

Song and Scene
Song and Scene – Troy Sivan, Youth
I am a big playlist Author. I need music playing in the background so I can tune everything else out and concentrate on the story and the characters. I have a playlist for each book as well as one for writing and of course, my favorites. I listen to a lot of celtic melodies, jazz music and Indie Authors like Steve Grand, Elie Lieb and Troy Sivan. I was drawn to Troy Sivan when I caught the last few seconds of his song, Youth, on a talk show. This song so perfectly describes David as a whole. Even the video, the two young gay lovers just watching each other, reminds me of Dusty and David. The words to the song resonate with David not just as a person, but his situation as well. “My youth is yours.” He had no youth. His youth was stolen by a fanatical mother and a hateful brother that belittled and sheltered him. So, when you’re reading I think you’ll see the lyrics to this song throughout the entire book when you’re reading David.
What if, what if we run away
What if, what if we left today
What if, we say goodbye to safe and sound
What if, what if we're hard to find
What if, what if we lost our minds
What if, we looked and fall behind and then never found
And when the lights start flashing like a photobooth
And the stars exploding
We'll be fireproof
My youth, my youth is yours
Trippin' on skies, sippin' waterfalls
My youth, my youth is yours
Runaway now and forevermore
My youth, my youth is yours
A truth so loud you can't ignore
My youth, my youth, my youth
My youth is yours
What if, what if we start to drive
What if, what if we close our eyes
What if, speeding through red lights into paradise
'Cause we get no time for getting old
Before our bodies turn to stones
Cross your fingers, here we go
Oh, oh, oh
And when the lights are flashing like a photobooth
And the stars exploding
We'll be fireproof
My youth, my youth is yours
Trippin' on skies, sippin' waterfalls
My youth, my youth is yours
Runaway now and forevermore
My youth, my youth is yours
A truth so loud you can't ignore
My youth, my youth, my youth
My youth is yours
My youth is yours
My youth, my youth is yours
Trippin' on skies, sippin' waterfalls
My youth, my youth is yours
Runaway now and forevermore
My youth, my youth is yours
A truth so loud you can't ignore
My youth, my youth, my youth
My youth is yours
Oh, oh, oh
My youth is yours
Oh, oh, oh
My youth is yours

While this book can potentially be read as a standalone, the stories are interconnected with each other and they're really good, so you'll be missing out if you don't pick them up!
Dusty is drawn to David from the moment he sees him first on the hospital bed, where he is in a comma after David's brother Dale beat him half to death for being gay, before Dale went on a rampage at the club where he killed Gio and hurt Jon.
David remains in a comma for two months and Dusty visits him every single day, once he realizes David's mother had all but deserted him. Once David wakes up, he finds comfort in Dusty's presence, somehow recognizing his voice and from there, their friendship blossoms into love. However, Dusty has been keeping David's identity a secret from all his friends, and this might very well drive a wedge between them when they realize who his brother is.
I loved this book! Dusty and David were lovable and sweet. Dusty was so protective and caring, always trying to look out for David. And David was really sweet and mature for his age, which with all he'd gone through, it was completely understandable. I really loved them together, they had great chemistry and their scenes were a blend of really hot and ultra sweet.
I also loved the cameos from the All Cocks cast, and the updates on their lives. I really like that TM Smith has managed to create a world that feels so realistic, in the sense that all the stories are interconnected. I especially enjoyed meeting Dean, Dusty's dad, who along with his son and David brought the book to another level of funny!
All in all, a fantastic read! It was angsty and has some violence, but it's nicely balanced with some fun and sweet moments. Very recommendable!

This is Book 6 in the All Cocks Stories and I highly, highly, highly recommend you read the previous ones in the appropriate order. There are a lot of characters in these books (helpfully, TM Smith has a guide at the front to remind you who is who, trust me, it's needed. Don't skip it!) and what I absolutely love is the characters continue throughout the series as supporting characters. Even if it's just a quick glimpse of them at a cookout, they're in the story!
Hide and Seek is about Dusty and David who meet in an unusual way. Honestly, it's really important to read previous books so you understand what is going on with the way they meet! When David awakens, he doesn't know who Dusty is but he recognizes his voice and feels safe with him.
Dusty doesn't know why he's pulled to go into David's room but he continues to show up and is the only person that does. Once David awakens, Dusty is supportive to the exclusion of everyone else. His only priority is taking care of David.
I loved both of these characters. Dusty is so nurturing and supportive. He truly will do whatever he needs to to help David heal. David has been through a rough life but he isn't bitter and he works hard to heal himself.
And for a surprise there was some hilarity added when Dusty's dad (Dean) comes to town to stay with him. The only issue I had was with the names. Dusty, David and Dean. It was hard to keep them straight especially with Dusty and David calling each other D.
I can't wait to see what comes next for the All Cocks family!!
