Blurb:
Can a pickup line from a stranger completely change the way an ordinary man sees himself?
Adrian wouldn’t have thought so, but after an ugly breakup, where his self-esteem took a serious beating, he’s willing to try just about anything to repair the damage… even return to a secluded bar in rural Maryland and the intriguing stranger whose words have been on his mind since they met.
Biker, bouncer, bartender, and tattoo artist, Wyatt is a rolling stone. After fifteen years, he is tired of a life on the run, but he isn’t sure he knows how to do anything else, or if he has anything besides a physical relationship to offer.
What’s supposed to be a one-off turns into another and another, and the relationship looks promising until the mob and the FBI come knocking on Adrian’s door.
Adrian is shocked when his live-in boyfriend Martin admits to fooling around with other men because he finds Adrian boring and cheap. Adrian decides to prove to himself that he can "get his groove back" and be exciting. Just because he's an accountant living in a cheap apartment, driving a car that's seen better days and likes to spend his nights cuddled on the couch doesn't mean he deserves to be compared to sweatpants.
Going back to the bar he'd stumbled on while stranded in the middle of nowhere Maryland, he's on a mission to find the gorgeous man who spoke those intriguing words:
"If you were mine, I never would’ve let a hot little power bottom like you within ten feet of this place without me by your side."
Biker, bouncer, bartender, and tattoo artist, Wyatt, has spent the last fifteen years on the run. Making his living however he can while never forming any ties. Coming home was never supposed to be permanent and falling in love was off the table. Somehow Adrian gets under his skin and Wyatt realizes one night will never be enough. However, as their trysts become more frequent Wyatt starts to realize he may be putting Adrian in danger. The only thing left for him to do is end things and go back to running. Unfortunately, Adrian isn’t out of danger yet, in fact, he may never see it coming.
Definitely different than I expected. There is a lot more going on in this story than the blurb made me think. We have the cute romance but we get a bit of mystery as well. I don't want to get too much into the mystery/suspense part of the story because, in my opinion, it would almost ruin it, but I enjoyed it. The writing was well done and while some parts of the story may have been over the top, it was a very fun read.
As for the relationship between Adrian and Wyatt, I loved them together. It was great how Adrian's idiosyncrasies were cute to Wyatt and he found Adrian endearing. Adrian may have seemed boring to some but, honestly, he was more of your everyday down-to-earth guy. I liked him and Wyatt both. They had great chemistry and I wouldn't mind seeing more of them.
I would definitely recommend Power Bottom. It's fun, sexy and keeps you guessing.
4.5 Stars!
