Winterbourne Vale is only too happy to help his much-loved aunt and uncle run their café in Canada while on his short December break—even if it means leaving his home in the United Kingdom. After a defeated-looking Colton walks into the café, Winter is determined to lift his spirits.
Can Colton and Winter’s Christmas happiness continue long after the gifts are unwrapped and the decorations are stowed away?
Walking in a Winter Wonderland is holiday treat filled with special ornaments and glistening snow, hot tea and cold-weather kisses, along with some sexy shenanigans and plenty of holiday cheer.
3.5 Stars!
This book was my first by Claire Castle. The story was cute and a good lead into the Christmas season. It is a low angst, sweet holiday story.
Colton is miserable and not looking forward to the holidays. He recently moved into his grandmother's old house after living with his best friend for a while. He's hoping that a fresh start will help him move on and find some happiness. He doesn't expect to meet a Santa hat wearing, lumberjack hottie his first day in town. Winter is in town for a few weeks to help his uncle and aunt at their cafe. The sad looking man piques his curiosity in more ways than one.
Winter is a really interesting guy. He's very caring and gentle. He wants to make people happy and is super sweet. I loved how Winter didn't push Colton and was there as a friend initially. I liked Colton, but was always waiting to get a better understanding of his breakup with his ex. The timing of the two major events that were weighing on Colton was confusing to me as well. I liked that Colton started to look around and start doing things to help him move on and be happier though. Their relationship was fun to watch evolve.
If you are looking for a sweet, low angst holiday book, this one may be for you.
