So What’s Next For Anchor Point?

Anchor Point is a series, so obviously there will be… more books. When? Soon! I know. Vague.

Book #2, Afraid to Fly, is already available for pre-order, and releases in January. This is the story of Travis, Paul’s friend from Just Drive. A former fighter pilot, he’s focused on making it through each day—and however many years before the Navy forces him to retire—with relentless back pain thanks to the crash that grounded him. He meets Clint, a traumatized ex-RAP (drone pilot) who’s trying to put his life back and career together.

Book #3 is currently in the works. I’m not 100% sure when it’ll be released, but hopefully in 2017. After that, I have at least three or four more books planned, and hope to continue past that.

The series will operate a lot like its civilian predecessor, Bluewater Bay—sometimes characters from previous books will show up and play big roles, sometimes they’ll have cameos, and sometimes it’ll be a completely different story with a completely different cast. Anchor Point isn’t a huge town, and Naval Air Station Adams (the actual base) isn’t an enormous base, but there are still thousands of people, so they won’t all cross paths.

The first two books focus on senior officers. Paul is a captain trying to make admiral. Travis is a commander trying to make captain. Clint is a lieutenant commander who’s just trying not to get kicked out.  Book #3 will shift gears and look at an enlisted character.

In future books, there will be officers and enlisted. Some will be stationed on the base itself, others will be aboard one of the ships home-ported there. There might even be the odd cameo from some of the characters in my other military books! As with Bluewater Bay, you never know who’s going to show up or what’s going to happen.

So, stay tuned – there is definitely more Anchor Point on the way!

About Just Drive

For Sean Wright, driving a cab in the tiny Navy town of Anchor Point isn’t an exciting job . . . until he picks up just-dumped Paul Richards. A drive turns into a walk on the pier, which turns into the hottest hookup Sean’s had in ages.

After a long overdue breakup, Paul can’t believe his luck. Of all the drivers, he’s picked up by the gorgeous, gay, and very willing Sean. Younger guys aren’t usually his thing, but Paul can’t resist.

One taste and neither man can get enough . . . right up until they realize that Paul is Sean’s father’s commanding officer and the last man Sean should be involved with.

With two careers on the line, their only option is to back off. It’s not easy, though; the sex and the emotional connection are exactly what both men have been craving for a long time. But Paul has devoted twenty-four years to his career and his dream of making admiral. If he’s caught with Sean, that’s all over. He has to choose—stay the course, or trade it all for the man who drove off with his heart.

5 Stars!!!

This book is everything that Kinky Sprinkles wasn't. There wasn't a thing about it that I'd have changed.

This tale is exactly what the blurb says, but what it doesn't say, is that LAW is back to her very, very best with this tale. Her last offering, Kinky Sprinkles, almost turned me off her for life (it was an open relationship kind of supposed HEA - not in my book, thank you very much), but this is pure vintage LAW at her Forces best.

Maybe with these series she draws on her personal experiences as a serviceman's wife, and maybe she draws on stuff that he's encountered - whatever her formula is, she's found it again and I for one hope that she never loses it. This tale was up there with Just Hear Me (OK, so not a military tale, but stunning), General Misconduct, Conduct Unbecoming, the The Only One series (love, love, love this, though Cat Grant went on to finish the series solo). It had decent leads, hot sex, a decent storyline, the right amount of angst, great dialogue and it ended in what I call a double HEA - the leads getting to be together, and then, cementing that togetherness.

This is a 5* Keeper of a tale, and I'm now off to read her The Only One series.

About L.A. Witt

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. And definitely don’t tell Lori A. Witt or Ann Gallagher. Neither of those twits can keep their mouths shut . . .
