But Sean keeps himself at a distance, and there’s a sadness about him that Toby can’t figure out. When Sean is accused of a crime he didn’t commit, he gives up without a fight. Toby realizes that he alone can save the library—and their head librarian.
Toby will need to uncover the darkness in Sean’s past and prove to him that he deserves a second chance at life and at love too. And while Christmas miracles are being handed out, maybe Toby will get his own dearest wish—to love and be loved by Mr. Miggles.
5 Stars!
I love Eli Easton, I especially love her stories around Christmas time so I was very excited to read this one this year.
Toby Kincaid works as the junior librarian in the little town of Sandy Lake, Ohio, where he happily grew up. With a great supportive family and a not so great boyfriend, his life is filled with very little excitement. So when Mr. Miggles, the head librarian and Toby's new found crush tries to help a little girl only to then be accused of a despicable crime he would never commit, Toby is determined to get to the bottom of things.
With Sean Wiggles' arrest, things at the library are being reevaluated and the town may not only lose Mr. Wiggles, whom most of the people love but also everything the library has come to provide for the town. Toby has a lot riding on his shoulders. First, he must convince Sean that he deserves to be loved and to be happy. And then he'll need to put into motion a plan to convince the city council that the library needs not only to stay the same but Mr. Wiggles as well.
This is a quick, sweet and fun read. And while at first I pictured Mr. Wiggles as an older super refined gentleman i.e. Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer,
as the story progresses, however, and we got to see more of Mr. Wiggles my mental image began to morph
and I really wanted Toby and Sean to get together. They had wonderful chemistry and I loved their interactions. I actually wouldn't mind seeing them pop up again in another book sometime.
Basically, this story reminded me of the cutesy holiday movies I find myself bingeing on throughout the month of December. Since I'm addicted to those kinds of things, it definitely doesn't come as a surprise that I would enjoy Merry Christmas Mr. Wiggles. And if you're anything like me I highly recommend it.

I knew I was going to love this book just because Eli Easton wrote it. What I didn't expect was to stay up until after 2am on a weekday in which I had to wake up at 5:30am to drive my daughters to school, because I just couldn't put it down until I was finished.
This book is completely from Toby Kincaid's POV, but it's almost completely about Mr. Miggles, Toby's boss at the library he works at. Mr. Miggles is a bit of a mystery at first, he's older than Toby, with a sad smile that tugs at Toby's heart and seems to spend most of his time alone. Toby, on the other hand, is sassy and extroverted. He has a boyfriend, but he doesn't treat Toby all that good and there doesn't appear to be much chemistry between them, either. As Toby begins to unravel the mystery that is Mr. Miggles, he starts realizing that he is more interested in his boss than in his own boyfriend.
When a tragic event leaves Sean Miggles accused of a crime he didn't commit, it's up to Toby to save both the library and his boss and show Mr. Miggles that he deserves a second chance at life and love.
I loved Toby, he was a fascinating character. He was almost the complete opposite of Mr. Miggles, but they had so many things in common, too, which made them just perfect for each other. I loved his drive and his commitment, and how he really showed Mr. Miggles the depth of his feelings. And Sean was just so dreamy. He was so sweet and nice with everyone and while at first, he seemed a bit stuffy, it was lovely to see there was more to him than just being the head librarian. I just loved all those layers that I got to uncover right along with Toby as I read. Their chemistry was unbelievable, hot and tender and passionate.
All in all, this was just one of the best Christmas stories I've read, sweet and filled with that amazing Christmas feeling as the town all rallied together to save Mr. Miggles, lead by Toby and his parents, who were also awesome, wrapped up with some angst and intrigue to keep the readers on their toes as we waited to see how it all would play out.
