Series Tour Day 5 ~ Innocent Ride by Chelsea Camaron ~ (Review + Teasers)
Day Five: Innocent Ride
Series: The Hellions Ride
Author: Chelsea Camaron
Genre: MC Romance
Cover Designer: Cover Me Darling
She is a corporate accountant. Her life is full of structure, routine, and organization. Settled, comfortable, and content, Caroline Milton loves knowing what to expect every minute of every day. More importantly, she loves knowing her life is what she pictures it to be and not what she came from. He is the Catawba Hellions VP and a wild one, refusing to be tamed. His motto—'hit it, get it, and go; no repeats' where women are concerned—guarantees a new woman in his bed nightly. His life, though, suddenly tilts on its axis when his wild days come barreling back with a major responsibility. Suddenly, Drexel 'Rex' Crews finds he has a real reason to settle down. When a situation quickly spins out of control at work for Caroline, she reaches out to the one group she least expected to find herself dependent upon—the Hellions Motorcycle Club. Asked as a personal favor from Doll to protect her best friend, Rex can't refuse. Protecting Caroline was supposed to be an innocent task. However, the attraction from their first meeting is a fire burning strong inside of them both. Neither can deny the pull, despite the fact that they come from different worlds. Can Rex show Caroline the safety and security of the MC? Can Caroline tame the wild beast inside of Rex? Can their innocent ride become a journey to long lasting love?

Well, I feel like this has been a long time coming. We have read all about Rex and have heard all about Caroline and now we get their story. I don't know if I was looking to it more for the actual story or to find out if Rex can really redeem himself. Caroline is having a problem with her Direct Supervisor Chad aka Devil Spawn aka Master Manipulator. In order to keep her safe she's assigned Rex, a Hellion, to watch over her, which she's not too happy about. Rex will pretty much sleep with any woman who'll open her legs for him. Caroline, however, presents a challenge, in more ways than one. While Caroline might not know how dangerous her situation is, Rex and Tripp understand things for her aren't safe. I'm not sure how I truly feel about this particular book because in all honesty there was a lot of build up. From previous books I was really interested in what was going on with Caroline's boss. I thought there was a lot of places this could go but when I started reading the book I found it hard to get invested. Caroline didn't respond to what was going on like I think she should have and while I understand it to some extent, I found it very frustrating. I also found I couldn't connect with Caroline and that might've had a lot to do with it. I enjoyed Shooter and Tess so much I feel as if it might not have been fair to have this story right after theirs. It wasn't easy for me to completely change my mind about Rex. He's the type of character in these books who I have a hard time truly believing in. Sure, they offer great comic relief and are there to back up others, they are loyal brother's in the Club but I just can't connect to them as an MC. And it definitely makes it harder when there is way too much going on in the story. All in all, I didn't love it but I certainly didn't hate it. I still have a few more book in the series and I'm excited to see where things will go. 3.5 Stars
