Country boy Nick hasn't forgotten his first crush, Sandy, back when he was still deep in the closet, or his regret that he never got to apologize to him after outing himself in front of their classmates and then lashing out at Sandy. Finding Sandy at the Bass Pro Shop opening was the last thing he expected, but he would make sure he'd get the chance he'd lost five years ago, even if he wasn't counting on being trapped in a glass elevator to achieve it. 

But even if Nick finally apologizes, is there a way that city boy Sandy and country boy Nick could put their differences aside and find love? 

I really liked Nick, he was so sweet and caring. It took me a bit longer to warm up to Sandy, especially since he never gave any thought to how Nick could've felt after outing himself to defend Sandy. Yes, perhaps Nick was a bit harsh, but come on, that's a life-changing event and never in those 5 years when Nick tried repeatedly to apologize did Sandy ever think: oh hey, perhaps it was hard for Nick, too. Grrr!!! Okay, other than that, I liked that Sandy actually did his best to adapt to Nick's life in the country and that despite their differences, they managed to get their HEA. 

I can't say this is my favorite M.A. Church read, but it was still pretty good. Perhaps if it'd have been a bit longer I'd have felt more connected to Sandy, still, it was an engaging, short novella that kept me turning the pages to find out how it would play out.
