A trip down to Cornwall is just what Ryan Penniford needs to recover from the daily grind of London life. Ryan and his amateur dramatics society, the Sarky Players, are traveling to Porthcurno to perform at the stunning Minack Theatre.

Stuart Box has returned to Cornwall after earning his PhD, and is killing time as he looks for a job back in London. Spending time with Ryan from the Sarky Players is a great way to take his mind off things.

During their first meeting, sparks fly, but not in a good way, and they must work to get past their initial hostilities to discover they have great off-stage chemistry. Stuart soon learns Ryan is not the superficial man people assume he is, and Stuart likes what he sees. The feeling is entirely mutual.

Pity Ryan is only visiting for two weeks, but both men want to see where this holiday romance might take them.

Stuart is back in Cornwall after getting his PHD and while he finds a research position he is helping out at the Minack Theatre, as he's done ever since he was younger. Ryan Penniford and the rest of the Sarky Players are in Cornwall as well to perform Midsummer Night's Dream for a week during Summer season.

While they didn't exactly start off on the right foot, Stuart manages to see past the mask Ryan wears most of the time and discovers in him someone he'd be willing to spend more time with. Perhaps even more than just the two weeks that Ryan will be in Porthcurno.

I have to admit I wasn't too sure of Ryan at first. We met him in the first book in the series, which by the way, is awesome and you need to read, too, if you haven't already, and he came across as a bit of a player. Turns out he couldn't be more different than that and that he is a better actor than anyone gives him credit for, having fooled everyone around him. He longs to find the man who would actually look past the mask he wears and cares enough to actually try to find out if there's more to him. In the end, he was just a sweetheart and I was so glad that he could find a great guy like Stuart that treated him like he deserved.

Stuart was great and I loved how patient he was with Ryan. They had amazing chemistry, despite the not so good start to their relationship and it was lovely how Stuart decided to take things at Ryan's pace and romance him.

I adored Stuart's mom, as well. She was delightful!

All in all, a very recommendable read! Fun and sweet and hot and filled with the British humor that characterizes Rebecca Cohen!
