Book blurb:

Everything Dominic Price has worked hard to uphold is about to come crashing down on everything he holds dear.

So much for the quiet life. Just as assistant US attorney and brewery owner Dominic Price is settling into a comfy new chapter with his partner, FBI agent Cameron Byrne, the sudden death of Nic’s father puts their happily-ever-after in jeopardy. Nic immediately suspects foul play, his prime suspect a notorious gangster his father was indebted to—only now the loan shark is out for blood.

Cam has been longing for Nic to finally let him in on this very personal case. But when Nic’s belief that he’s the sole Price heir is upended, the line between personal and professional starts to blur, leaving Cam unsure of where he stands.

Nic is depending on Cam’s kidnap and rescue expertise to save his recently discovered family member before it’s too late. But with a dangerous threat closing in, the ghosts from Nic’s past cast long shadows. Any relationship could crack under the pressure, but for Nic, finding his family might mean losing the love of his life.

Layla Reyne says: Nic and Cam have to fight for their lives and their happily ever after in this exciting, action-packed conclusion to the Trouble Brewing series.

Short Release Blitz Teaser:

“I’ve got you,” Cam murmured, and dropped a kiss on his temple.

“Just when I thought things were turning our way…”

Nic dropped his head on Cam’s shoulder, and Cam was sure Nic could feel his heart about to beat out of his chest, equal parts worry at the dejection in Nic’s voice, so foreign for him, and adoration, because he let Cam see that, not hiding anything from him, for better or worse.

“One setback.” Cam carded his fingers through Nic’s hair, more of the sexy gray showing every day.

“Three, if we’re counting.”

“Stop counting,” he playfully chided with a swat to Nic’s ass. “Unless it’s your breaths, in which case, take a few extra to settle.”

Nic took the recommended inhales, plus a few more, then rested their foreheads together. “Thank you.”

Cam waited for his eyes to open. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” Finally, a smile, if an exhausted one, right before Nic brushed his lips over Cam’s. It was a slow, gentle kiss, probably the only thing that would be in this already rough-and-tumble day, and Cam let Nic take all that he needed. Cam needed it too—this reminder of their connection, the threads of the rope being reinforced. Cam would hold Nic to his word. Nic hadn’t let the rope go for him when Cam had needed him to hold tight, and Cam wouldn’t let go now either, nor would he let Nic, or anyone else for that matter, cut through it with a Ka-Bar.

Long Release Blitz Teaser:

“Welcome home, to what’s left of it.”

“You’re here. That’s all that matters.” Cam teased the corner of Nic’s mouth, just short of a kiss, before he sat back and took another swig of his beer. He talked over Nic’s throaty rumble of frustration. “It feels like we’ve been gone forever.”

“Bird thinks so. Left us a surprise in your shoes.”

“In mine?”

“’Cause he likes me better.”

Traitor indeed, the both of them. “You stole my cat.”

“I showed your cat a better way.”

“No, you bribed him with extra food and treats. But I don’t want to argue about that right now. Got something else in mind.” He finished his beer, set the empty on the table next to Eddie’s, and stood. Nic moved to stand too, but Cam kept him seated, a hand on his shoulder and a leg thrown over his lap. “This okay?”

Nic rolled his hips, bringing their groins in grinding contact. “More than,” he said, voice rumbly for a different reason now. “This part of my body doesn’t hurt, at least not in the bad way. But I do wonder about the chair. This is how we broke the other one, if you recall.”

Cam waggled his brows. “How about we try to break all the chairs?”

“How about I get a kiss first?” Nic lifted his legs and bumped Cam forward.

Hands splayed on Nic’s chest, Cam kept himself from careening into him, but Nic, despite his injuries, seemed to want it rough, seemed to crave it as much as Cam did. Driving one hand down his back and the other into his hair, Nic dragged him close, smashing their lips together. Drinking with each long, slow swipe of his tongue, he drew a moan from deep within Cam, from that spot where his love for this man grew more and more each day.

“Still my favorite taste,” Nic mumbled, as they broke apart for air.

“You know…” Cam trailed a path of kisses along his jaw, softly pecking over the bruises. “Bird wasn’t the only one you taught a better way.”

“Even if I argue you to an early grave?”

Cam righted his head and gently took Nic’s face in his hands. “No talking of graves. And no arguing tonight.” He closed the distance again, wanting more closeness, more tastes of their future. “Just kissing. And celebrating this victory.”

“And fucking,” Nic growled. “Definitely part of this celebration.”

Cam grinned. “No objection, Counselor.”

5 + Stars

I was so torn because while I desperately want to see Cam and Nic get their HEA, I’m not ready to say goodbye to them or the other characters in this verse’, yet, so I’m really hoping that Ms. Reyne will continue to visit these guys in the future. crosses fingers

I absolutely loved the conclusion of Nic and Cam’s story. Like the other stories in the series, and the previous one, it was well-written and the author does a terrific job at balancing the mystery and suspense with the romance portion of the story. It’s a fast-paced and action packed story and it had me sitting on the edge of my seat and biting my nails throughout.

I absolutely love both Cam and Nic and together the love they share practically comes off the pages at you. I loved that that love, and their bond, only grew stronger throughout the story. The passion they share is clear to see, not only in their words, but their actions, as well.

This was an enjoyable and entertaining read, as are all of the books I’ve read by this author. Cam and Nic are absolutely swoon-worthy together and if you haven’t met them yet, you need to, but I suggest starting with Jamie and Aidan’s series, Agents Irish and Whiskey, you won’t regret it, I promise.

5+ Absolutely Mindblown Stars!

The third installment in the Trouble Brewing series was everything I could wish for and more so much more! I will admit that I had to re-read Craft Brew before starting Noble Hops, I know, I know, such a chore. ;) But honestly, at the very least you need to read the first two books in the TB series before this one—and the AIW series, too, if you haven't already, trust me, you won't regret it—or you will be utterly lost. There's a lot happening in the series and some of the things that come to fruition in NB have been brewing since book 1 in the series. And then we have some of the secondary cast, which we met in the AIW series, so yeah, you don't want to miss out on any of it.

Layla Reyne gave Cam and Nic the HEA they had definitely earned, but not without some of the heart-stopping action she has us used to along the way. Even if I had to stop at some points and rewind because every single detail was important, or if my tummy was in knots or if I was almost afraid to turn the page in my kindle because of what I might find, it was so well worth it.

Cam and Nic were fantastic together, their love for each other shining through in each and every one of their interactions, from a simple fleeting touch on their backs or hands to the insanely hot sex scenes that threatened to set my kindle (and me!) on fire.

I loved, loved, LOVED that Aidan, Jamie, Mel, Lauren, Eddie and the rest of Nic's family were such a big part in this book and I really hope this isn't the last we've seen of them.

The case they were working on against Vaughn was interesting and Ms. Reyne left no stone unturned or plot point without an answer in a realistic manner and I know that now that these two series are complete, I'm due for a re-read of it all back to back (again, so not a chore). ;)

5 stars!

Noble Hops is the third book in Layla Reyne’s Trouble Brewing series. You really need to read this series in the appropriate order, as the storyline in book three continues from those of books one and two. Additionally, I think before reading this series you need to read the Agents Irish and Whiskey books, because Trouble Brewing is a spin-off from that, and the characters and their lives are entwined. And, both series are terrific so it’s no hardship to read and fall in love with these guys!

If you’ve read the first two books in the series, you knew where this book was headed but there were a lot of surprises throughout. The case Nic and Cam have worked comes together and it’s all laid out tying it together, from top to bottom. Characters I came to love, or hate, finally get what they deserved, good or bad. Nic and Cam have given us a ride through their series and this book more than the others, showed the strength of their relationship and love for each other. It wasn’t easy and there were still some insecure moments, but I loved the strength and solidarity between them.

I have loved this series and the previous one. This book absolutely did not disappoint in any aspect. I was trying to take my time reading it because I knew this was it for Nic and Cam’s story but I just couldn’t! I sped read through the last half of the book because I had to see it all play out. Once I finished, I had misty eyes because it was just more than I had hoped for and I’m not ready to give up these guys! I hope there are plans for another spinoff; there are a couple of characters the author has in play and they’d make some great stories (maybe this is the plan, I’m terrible at paying attention to these things). And, I just don’t want to give up all my favorite characters! Both these series will be ones that I reread, I love them that much. If you haven’t read them, you really need to!

5 stars

I loved this wild ride!! This was the perfect conclusion to Nic and Cam. It kept me on my toes and I could not put the book down. We got the similar steamy sexy times between Nic and Cam, as well as the stubbornness that we saw in the previous two books in this series.

The case that Nic and Cam were working was captivating and everything really came together perfectly in this book. I was on the edge of my seat wondering how things were going to turn out. There was so much going on with the case but it was soooo good!!! We got teases and hints of who could be the good guys and the bad guys throughout the storyline, so when everything came together at the end it was very satisfying.

I always enjoy this author’s writing and pacing of the story and the flipping between POVs is used really well. I felt like I got Nic and Cam's POVs at the perfect time and it helped to really build suspense in a couple of places in the storyline. Even though there were a couple of times that Nic and Cam's loyalty could have been questioned, the author did a great job of showing their devotion to each other. It ended up being a lot sweeter than I expected. There are a couple of characters in this book whose story I now hope to get!
