Release Blitz: Halo (Fallen Angel Series #1) by Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine (Teasers+Review)

HALO
Book One of the Fallen Angel Series
An MM Rock Romance

ELLA FRANK   BROOKE BLAINE

Massive world tours. Over a hundred million albums sold. Groupies galore.
Every day is a party for Viper and the guys of TBD, the biggest rock band in the world. But it all comes to a screeching halt when the lead singer walks out of the studio one day and never comes back.

Ear-blistering vocals. Butchered lyrics. Fame chasers.
After months of lackluster auditions, Viper, the lead guitarist and resident bad boy of the group, is ready to find solace in the bottom of a bottle. Time’s running out and the pressure’s on to find a new singer, but it isn’t until an angel walks through the door that the band’s prayers are answered.

Charismatic. Talented. Magic behind the mic. Halo is everything they’ve been looking for.
With a voice to match his stunning good looks, it isn’t long before Viper’s taking notice. But there are several reasons this is a bad idea:
  1. Interpersonal relationships in the band are discouraged
  2. Viper has already broken rule #1—big mistake
  3. Halo is straight

Too bad Viper’s body isn’t listening to his head—at least not the one on his shoulders. But you can’t fake chemistry, not onstage and certainly not off it, and Viper and Halo? They have it in spades.

As both men try to resist the fire blazing between them, and the band is forced to reinvent themselves, it’ll be a complicated rise back to the top. But from the ashes of what was, something beautiful is born. Something better. And when the world finally sees Halo stretch his wings, they’ll discover what it’s like to fall for an angel.

5 Stars!

Halo is book one in the Fallen Angel series by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine and as collabs go, this is one of the best. Their styles mesh so seamlessly that it's nearly impossible to determine who of them wrote what. Also, it's GFY, one of my favorite tropes ever, and I loved how natural and realistic the progression of it was, which is not all that surprising (Remember Try? LOL)

Frankly, I wasn't too certain of Viper at first. He was so gruff and I just wasn't sure I was going to like him, I even told my co-blogger about this, but he won me over after he started defending and supporting Halo. It didn't feel like he was doing it just because of the attraction he felt for Halo, too, so that endeared Viper to me and OMG, he had me swooning every time he called Halo 'Angel'! I loved Halo from the start, he was just amazing. He just fit into the group so well, despite their age difference.

This book was a slow burn, which made sense since it's GFY (see above), but Viper and Halo's chemistry was off the charts and the UST was combustible. And while they ended it in a good place, I can't wait to see how it'll play out in the next two books.

I really liked Killian and the other two guys in their group, and I'm looking forward to seeing them again in the next books.

Overall, this was a fantastic start to the series! I'm thoroughly hooked and can't wait for more of Viper, Halo and Fallen Angel soon!
