A man of few words, Joe is a hard-working farmhand who likes his simple, uncomplicated life. Ed is satisfied with his existence as an auto mechanic, but thrilled when an unexpected development in his life allows him to help Joe realize a dream.

It forces them, however, to reevaluate the casual, undefined nature of their relationship. They’re too macho to speak of love, and neither would acknowledge he doesn’t really mind when it’s his turn to bottom. When life throws them a curve ball, and the rules of their game get old, Ed tries to take every aspect of their relationship up a notch. Can Joe adapt to the open sentimentality Ed’s injecting into their relationship, let alone the new spice in their bedroom activities?

This is a previously published story that has been rewritten, expanded, and re-edited.

4 Stars!

Established relationships aren't my favorite kind of read. I just have trouble connecting with the MCs, since I didn't actually see how they got together in the first place and because of that, it took me a while to warm up to Joe and Ed. Never mind that it was kind of annoying that they kept trying to hide how much they enjoyed bottoming for the other. But that's neither here nor there.

There were several things happening in the story, some fairly obvious, some not as much, which impacted Joe and Ed's relationship, allowing them both to become closer than they'd been at the start of the book, even if their kind-of-relationship had been going for two years. It was like they finally opened their eyes to the possibilities, which was nice to see. They were both likable men and once they got their heads out of the sand, it was fairly smooth sailing (at least with respect to their relationship.)

Other than that, this was an entertaining read. The mystery was well-done and intriguing and I just kept waiting for the resolution, which was satisfying. I would've liked a bit more closure regarding Ed's dad's death, but overall, it was good. Recommendable!!!
