Single Malt
Eight months after the car crash that changed everything, FBI agent Aidan Talley is back at work. New department, new case, and a new partner: smart, athletic, and handsome, Jameson Walker is twelve years his junior. Even if Aidan were ready to move on--and he's not--Jamie is off limits.
Jamie's lusted after Aidan for three years, and the chance to work with San Francisco's top agent directly is too much to pass up. Aidan is prickly--to put it mildly--but a growing cyber threat soon proves Jamie's skills invaluable.
Jamie's talents paint a target on his back, and Aidan is determined to protect him. But with hack after hack threatening a high-security biocontainment facility, time is running out to thwart a deadly terrorist attack. They’ll have to filter out distractions, on the case and in their partnership, to identify the real enemy, solve the case and save thousands of lives, including their own.
5 Stars!!!
Aidan Talley (Irish) is back to work eight months after the car crash that cost him his husband, Gabe, and his partner, Tom. He's assigned to a new department with a new case and new partner, Jamie Walker (Whiskey). Jamie is younger than Aidan, intelligent and gorgeous and has been crushing on Aidan for the last three years. Not that he expects anything to come out of it, after all, Irish is not ready to move on, or is he?
Wow, just wow! This book was amazing! Procedural shows like Criminal Minds and NCIS and the like have always been my favorite, Single Malt has the same qualities I love about those. Interesting cases with twists and turns that keep me guessing until the very last moment, lovable characters I want to know more about, an ongoing investigation that will span throughout the other books in the series and secrets that will surely impact the MC's relationship in the future.
This book is a slow burn, which considering that Aidan is still grieving after his husband's death makes a lot of sense. Never mind that he's dealing with the aftermath of the accident, wanting to keep his new partner safe while following a lead that seems to point to the accident not being really an accident. The chemistry between Aidan and Jamie was insane! I just adored seeing them together, be it while working on a case or in their private lives, they just complement each other perfectly.
I adored Mel and Danny, same as the rest of the Talley brood, I'd be looking forward to seeing them all again in the following books.
Single Malt is fast-paced and detail-oriented, fabulously written and engaging, I can't recommend it enough, just pick it up, you won't regret it.
