GayRomLit 2017 Blog Tour Welcomes Author Renee Stevens

GayRomLit 2017 Blog Tour Welcomes Author Renee Stevens

Renee Stevens GRL Blog Tour

I was so excited to hear that GRL was going to be in Denver this year. I instantly told my husband all about it and couldn’t wait for registration. With Denver being only a five hour drive from me, I knew that as long as I was able to procure a spot, I’d be able to go. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize when registration started, and by the time I got to the computer and tried to reserve my spot, there were no author spots available. I was bummed, to say the least, but I put my name on the wait list and hoped for the best.

May came around and I was sure that it just wasn’t going to happen. Then, one day, I opened my email and there it was. An invitation to register as a Supporting Author. I couldn’t believe it, and after I reread the email about five times, I called my husband to tell him about it and he was just as excited for me as I was. I emailed back and waited patiently to be told I could register. Within a few hours, I was registered, had my hotel reservations, and was so excited.

Then the nerves kicked in. I’ve never been to any kind of retreat, so I had no idea what to expect. Once I got to talking to other attendees, I felt a lot better. Why? Because I’m not alone. There are quite a few that this is either their first GRL or their first one as an author. Not just that, but there is a wealth of knowledge available from those who are veterans of GRL and retreats like it. I haven’t quite gotten to ask all my questions, but that is more due to the fact that I was going out of town just days after getting registered and wouldn’t have internet access. I have no doubt that, once I make it back home, all I have to do is ask and I’ll find the answers I seek. It will be a learning challenge, but I’m up to the task and I have little doubt that as the date approaches for me to leave and drive to Denver, that I’ll be as ready as I can be.

Now, what can you expect from me at GRL? Well, I plan to have samples of my work available in booklet form. Never read something of mine before? No problem. Not only will I have samples of at least one of my novels (or you can pre-order the paperback to have it signed), but I also plan to have a free short story available for anyone who wants it and various other goodies. Just come see me during my lounge sessions on Thursday and Friday from 2:00 – 2:45 pm. There will be a number of different keychains, magnets, Smashwords discount codes for my newest novel, Barbed Wire Cowboy, and more. Come see me at GRL to see what else I have on offer!

I can’t wait to see everyone!

Pre-Orders
At this time, I won’t be selling paperback copies at GRL. However, if you’re going to GRL 2017, you can pre-order paperback copies for me to sign, at discounted prices, and I will bring your copy with me to GRL. Currently I have paperback copies of Barbed Wire Cowboy and No More Hiding for pre-order at $10.00 each. While you have to be going to GRL for the paperbacks, I am also offering eBook versions of Barbed Wire Cowboy for $4.00 each, which will be emailed after your order is received. If you purchase both a paperback and an eBook, you get an even bigger discount. For more information and to order your copies, visit the GRL ordering page on my website.

Author Bio:
Renee Stevens first started writing in her teens but didn’t get serious about being an author until her mid-twenties. Since then she’s written a number of contemporary stories, as well as delved into the paranormal. When not writing, or spending time in the outdoors, Renee can usually be found working on GayAuthors.org in her capacity of Admin, Blog Coordinator, and Anthology Coordinator.

Renee resides in Wyoming with her wonderfully supportive husband and a menagerie of four-legged critters. Making the most of the nearly constant negative temperatures and mounds of snow, Renee spends much of the winter months in hibernation with her laptop, the voices in her head keeping her company while her husband works.

When she needs a break from writing, Renee takes to the sewing machine to design, and make, beautiful quilts. When the snow finally disappears, usually around May or June, Renee can be found in the great-outdoors. She spends her time on the mountain, at the lake, and just anywhere that she can do some camping, take some photos, and ride the four-wheelers with her hubby. Once back at home, it’s back to writing.
