A vengeful god’s curse took everything from the Egyptian pharaoh Seti: his name, his position, and even his lover. After many long centuries relegated to a musty sarcophagus, he’s awakened when a graduate student working in the museum where he is stored stumbles upon him.
Logan, working as a curator to fund his education, figures he’s screwed when he accidentally awakens the ancient ruler. It’ll be career suicide to claim the mummy came back to life, but it’s either that or be labeled a thief. Little does he know, those are the least of his problems. A society of archaeologists is hot on their trail, determined to uncover the secret of Seti’s immortality, and then there’s the little matter of an angry god who doesn’t appreciate Logan meddling in his work. But the biggest problem might be Seti himself, who’ll stop at nothing to get into Logan’s pants—and his heart.
4.5 Stars!!!
This was such an interesting read that combines history with modern times in a very interesting way. While I'm not fond of multiple POVs in books, in this case, in particular, it worked great.
I loved Seti and Logan, they were really good together. Their relationship was a bit instalust and that first encounter treads the non-con line at first, but other than that, they worked well as a couple and were undeniably hot together.
While I loved Logan's friends, I have to say that my favorite secondary character was Osiris. He seriously rocked and was uber-funny! I only wished Setekh's had suffered a bit more, he deserved it. *shakes head*
Overall, if you love history, intrigue and ancient Egyptian Gods and kings running loose in modern times, you'll definitely enjoy Kiernan Kelly's new release!

I really like Angel Martinez's urban fantasy books.
ReplyDeleteWell I have a lot of non-MM urban fantasy books, like Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Devon Monk. For MM, I admit I need to think for a second. I do enjoy Lyn Gala, Astrid Amara, or Angel Martinez books.
