Marc longs for a grand romance, but he doubts he’ll ever be that lucky. Then he meets Darius, an arrogant tailor who pushes all his buttons. When Darius offers him a job, Marc hesitates—he needs a direction for the future, not another man who doesn’t believe in relationships.

Darius lives by a few unbreakable rules: never sleep with employees, fashion should be simple, and romance is for fools. Marc, with his shimmery-sweaters collection, makes him want to break every single one.

They quickly give in to desire, but Darius wants to protect himself and Marc refuses to repeat past mistakes. It’s only when they let go of assumptions, that love has a chance to take hold.

Well-Tailored is a companion novel to the Thorne and Dash series. It can be read as a standalone.

Well-Tailored has ties to Silvia Violet's Thorne and Dash series but can be read on its own. Thorne and Dash are prominent characters in this story, so personally, I think you'll get more enjoyment from the story if you have Thorne and Dash's backstory. Both Darius and Marc were introduced in the Thorne and Dash series. Marc is Dash's best friend and has history with Thorne. Darius is Thorne's tailor and friend. The lives of these men are entwined, especially Thorne, Dash and Marc.

Marc is still working as an escort, but he's ready for a change in his life. When he accompanies Dash to pick up a suit, he finds an opportunity that seems meant for him. Darius is hiring an assistant, and it would be a great opportunity for Marc to get back to what he enjoys doing. But Marc is also attracted to Darius and wants to be more than just his assistant. When he finally decides to take the plunge and apply for the job, Darius gets to know him a lot more personally. Darius doesn't sleep with employees, so he takes the opportunity before Marc is hired to sleep with him. And then, Darius goes back to his arrogant and rude behavior. Marc, though, has a history of falling for the wrong men and no matter how Darius acts, Marc lets his feelings get him deep. Darius never falls for a trick, but working with Marc every day, he finds himself wanting and thinking about him more and more.

Marc had a difficult childhood and really is just looking for love. He wants what Dash and Thorne have, only when it comes to choosing men, he tends to pick the ones out to use him. Even though he's attracted to Darius, he has to consider his job, and the chance at a future he's always wanted. Marc had given up his dream of creating costumes, but thanks to Darius' help, he now has the opportunity to do what he loves. Despite how well-received his costumes are, he still is lacking the confidence in himself. Marc is an easily likable character from the very beginning. He doesn't do well at protecting his heart, but now he has Thorne and Dash's relationship to show him what he really wants. Darius is not very likable at first. He's rude, arrogant, and treats Marc terribly. Darius was hurt in the past and he decided to never allow it to happen again. Which is understandable, but I didn't like his push/pull with Marc. It really seemed he was no different than any of the men in Marc's past. But, all the time spent together, allowed Marc to break through Darius' walls.

I will say that this book is HOT! Darius didn't want a relationship, but he couldn't keep his hands of Marc and they steamed up the pages from early in the story. There was a lot of great banter between Darius and Marc. Marc may not have been able to turn down an opportunity to get naked, but he definitely was able to stand his ground against the sharp words from Darius. This story was well-written, and definitely one you should read!
