Cam is a veteran porn star at Blue Boy Studios. Known as Mr. Nice Guy, he’s the top every newbie bottom wants to be paired with.

But in recent months his beloved hardcore scenes have dried up. Instead, he finds himself stuck with a string of monotonous foreplay scenes. He takes his frustration to his boss, and warped kind of lover, Jon Kellar, but Jon won’t bend. Cam is a commodity and will do as he’s told…in every way.

Cam’s frustration builds, but a chance meeting with a hot BMXer distracts him. Sasha Tate is gorgeous, warm and wonderful; everything Cam has ever wanted. They bond over shared interests and a sizzling mutual attraction. Cam is exhilarated and thrilled, until his chosen profession gets in the way.

Sasha pulls back, and before Cam can fix it, life comes at him from all fronts. A crisis threatens much more than his relationship with Sasha, and as his world implodes he begins to realize that life will never be the same again.

Bones is Book 2 in Garrett Leigh's Blue Boy series, and could be read on its own, but the MC's from Book 1 are pretty prominent in this book. Cam works for Blue Boy Studios as a porn star and is involved with the shady owner of the studio. He has a very supportive father and sister, and a college degree but is still unhappy with his life. He isn't enjoying his work at the studio, he isn't enjoying what's happening with his boss and he's just not sure what comes next. Then when he meets someone outside of the porn industry that he's interested in, he gets a diagnosis that sends his world spinning. Sasha is interested in Cam and doesn't care that he's a porn star, but Sasha has his own secrets. Behind the fun, life loving exterior and a guy who has experienced exactly what Cam is going through.

This story is told from Cam's point of view, so it's always his mind we're in, which doesn't allow the reader to know as much about Sasha. I liked Cam in the first book in the series and was looking forward to his story. Cam appeared to have it all, but because of his parents' divorce the year before, he seems to be struggling to get it together. As a child of divorced parents, I kind of rolled my eyes at this event throwing him into the tailspin he was in. He had a great supportive father, who even supported him regarding his job in porn. His mom did walk out on the family but it seemed to be Cam's choosing to not have anything to do with her. At this point in the book, he seemed to have a pretty good life except for the decisions he's made for himself.

I always say it, but I think novellas can be difficult, especially when there is so much story packed into the pages. There was a lot going on with Cam's family, Cam's job, Cam's health, Cam's friends, Cam's new boyfriend and it felt like just too much sometimes. This book did end with a HFN type ending. And, if it's something that bothers you, you should be aware before reading that there's a kind of random threesome scene with an already established couple in this story.
