After what seems like an endless stream of problems, things are finally going well with the club. We’re finally getting back to some semblance of normal after the chaos she brought with her before she was sent away. But now she’s back.
She says she’s changed, and maybe she has, but I don’t care. She is the reason it all started, and she’s not welcome here. I will stop at nothing to get her out. I won’t rest until she’s gone. Her beauty will not distract me, and her history doesn’t even matter. I will get Anna away from my club, or die trying.
5 Very Emotional, Tear filled Stars!
Some stories shatter you, rip you apart and leave you feeling as if you've run an emotional marathon. Reaper was one of those stories. I can't even begin to put into words how much I just wanted to reach into my Kindle and hug Anna. This beautiful and broken woman had a strength that I love and in many ways can't believe. While I know it's fiction, the way Geri Glenn told her story I felt like Anna was a living breathing person that deserved to have her HEA no matter what.
When we first meet Anna in Ryker's book it's hard to see how she could ever redeem herself. Now, though, we get the whole story, how she ended up where she was, who she really is and why she's so damaged. We also really get an understanding of how much this woman loved her sister Charlotte and the lengths she will go through, the abuse she will endure to be a person her sister can depend on. What seemed like selfishness on her part is the complete opposite and it was pretty evident from the beginning.
Obviously, I loved Anna, Reaper, however, is another story. When he's being sweet, I love him but when he's being a jerk, he breaks my heart. This man knows how to land a verbal punch like a heavyweight champion. His words are cruel, his intent to inflict as much emotional damage as possible and he does it more than once. He had me in tears, crying for the pain he was in and distraught over the pain he was causing Anna. I felt for him, he suffered a devastating betrayal and he lost those he loved but he wouldn't have been getting my forgiveness so fast had his vitriol been aimed at me.
Together they were great. The chemistry was perfect, the way they brought out the softer side of each other and were able to lend strength when it was needed. I just wish that we could've seen more of the good times between them because I loved them. This was a slow burn, enemies to lovers story so I feel like I cried more than I smiled.
I loved the Epilogue, its correlation to the prologue was a very nice touch. The writing was very well done and I felt for all the characters. I really can't wait to read Bosco's story not to mention Knox (please, tell me he'll get a book). I highly recommend Reaper, this is a must read!
