Genre: Contemporary MM Romance

 Synopsis:

Ashley Brennan, son of a luxury hotel chain billionaire, is happy consulting and teaching business. Moving from California to an opportunity in Connecticut at the prestigious New England University, Ashley takes it to escape a string of bad luck in the romance department. Meeting Taylor at the off campus bar, The Library, Ashley feels his luck may be changing.

Taylor Davis is nearing the end of his college career and looking forward to moving out west, escaping the cold winters of the North and possibly the judgement of his parents, who don’t yet know his sexual orientation. After only a handful of brief “relationships,” Taylor’s not so sure love is in the cards for him, until he meets Ashley. Everything with Ashley feels so comfortable, so natural.

When Ashley and Taylor put together that Ashley is Taylor’s professor, how will they make it 245 Days to the end of the school year when Taylor graduates and is no longer off limits? And even if they can make it to the end of the year, will everything else in their lives still line up?

EXCERPT:

Finally, Ashley took a deep breath and let it out, then pulled his glasses off and set them on the bar before turning his eyes to me.

“We have a problem,” he started. “You’re a student. I’m a teacher. You’re my student. And I’m your teacher. The board would be all over this. And I can’t risk my…” He stopped talking to take a few breaths, his dark eyes not leaving mine and saying so much. “But at the same time…”

Ashley started walking toward me. Slow, measured steps as he spoke. “I can’t stop thinking about you,” he continued. “And now…after these past few hours…I look at you. I listen to you. You make me laugh. You make me think. You make me feel…And I just can’t make myself walk away.”

Silence fell in the room as he stopped talking and walking, mere inches from me. We stood eye-to-eye and I slowly inhaled, his scent, now accented with sea air, sinking into me.

“Am I crazy, or do you feel it?” he asked, his voice a strangled whisper, his eyes boring into mine. “That?”

There was a moment. Like the split second before a popcorn kernel pops. That was me. I was like a popcorn kernel. In an instant I had one hand behind his neck and the other around his waist pulling him in to me, my mouth crashing onto his. I felt every fiber of him respond when one of his hands dug into my hair—his fingers weaving tightly in the strands, the other fiercely gripping my ass, holding on for dear life. Our mouths consumed each other, teeth clashing, lips bruising.

Ashley fiercely pushed at me, walking me backward until I was nearly slammed into the wall, his hips pressing into mine, our engorged cocks pressing into each other behind our pants.

Fuck, yeah! This. This—is—it.

I pulled his head back from mine, breaking the kiss, but not our grip. “That? Do I feel that?” I breathed heavily, needing to fill my lungs with air. “Yeah. I feel it.”

4 Stars!!!

Ashley and Taylor meet the day before classes start for Taylor's last year in college, bonding over their not-so-masculine names. The attraction between them is electric, but they decide to take things slowly, date and see where it takes them. However, the next day, it turns out Ashley is Taylor's new Intro to Business professor and as such, off-limits. They can't stay away from each other, though, and after all, how difficult can it be to keep their secret for 245 days?

I really liked Ashley and Taylor, they were sweet and had great chemistry. Even if there was a six-year gap  between them and the fact that they were teacher-student, it felt as if they were pretty balanced in their relationship.

The book is well-written, it has a good, natural progression and there was a fair amount of steamy scenes, plus the connection and the love between Ashley and Taylor was undeniable. However, some parts of it, especially in the second half, felt a bit over the top for me. Still, it was an enjoyable, fast-paced read that I recommend!

5 Stars!

From nosing around - not that I'd have known from reading - it seems this is the author's first MM. Kudos to her, it's absolutely stunning and so, so good!

This is a stunningly sweet, lovely, romantic, feelgood tale that takes place over 245 days, from the time the leads meet and then are able to openly be with each other. There are a couple of reasons for this, and I believed in both of them, and I loved how the number 245 then went on to have even greater significance for them in the rest of their lives.

The tale is that of a couple of guys who meet innocently in a store, are attracted to each other, then end up meeting again at a bar, liking each other even more, before ending up at one's house and making out, and then one admits to it being his first time, and the other, 6yrs older, puts temporary brakes on, and they agree to a proper date in 3 days' time. Only the very next day, they discover they're student and uni teacher and they have to break it off, right, because that'd be breaking all the rules if not. Right? Wrong, as love will find a way!

These guys were MEANT to be together, as their tale will make you see. I loved everything about it - the way they talked and agreed on how 'they' could work and that it was only 245 days before they could be openly together. I loved how both went into it with eyes and hearts open, and how their hearts, passion and bodies inevitably succumbed to each other, but how they still tried to do the right thing. I loved how they failed, and how hot, sweet and sexy the sex scenes were - some of the most romantic I've ever read, especially that first, first time one! I loved how the tale panned out, how a sort-of-potential hater became an ally, how others helped their romance progress, how one slightly bigoted guy got the awakening he needed, and how their relationship worked out. In essence, there wasn't a part of this tale that I could fault - yes, even those little things that were the teeniest, tiniest bit convenient were really well done and pretty plausible.

I absolutely loved the stunning epilogue that took place in two parts, with part 1 coming 245 days after they got together openly, and the other that took place 245 days before their HEA was cemented with an even happier event. I loved seeing their first 245 days together end in 2015, their next start in 2016, and yet another start in 2023 - ABSOLUTELY my kind of HEA. This author outdid all my expectations with this tale, and I can't wait to read more from her.

I am so, so pleased that I got this lovely read courtesy of the author and Bayou Book Junkie, as it's one I can see myself reading and re-reading many times.
