Rand O’Malley dreams of superstardom. He hopes to one day sing the blues like a rock god. Moving to New York City and hiring a new manager are steps to make his dreams a reality. But nothing moves as fast as Rand would like, and everyone has opinions, for example that he should keep certain pieces of himself quiet if he plans on making it in the Big Apple. Like his bisexuality.
Will Sanders is a gifted musician who dazzles Rand with his ability to coax gorgeous notes from an electric guitar one moment and play the piano like a professional the next. He’s a geek, but Rand isn’t concerned about Will’s pressed exterior clashing with his tattoos. His focus is music. Yet there’s something about Will that makes Rand think there’s much more to the quiet college student than he lets on. As Rand’s dreams begin to materialize, he’s forced to reconsider his priorities and find his own kind of truth. One that might include Will.
5 ++ Stars!! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!

Rand is an aspiring rockstar. He recently moved to NYC with his two bandmates, Tim and Cory to try to make his dreams come true. Rand is bi, but he made a promise to try to go the straight route to make his career work. He never expected hiding that part of himself would be an issue, but then he also never expected to meet Will, a geeky, shy and sweet music prodigy either.
So, I've read all but one of Lane's books, and I knew from the very beginning this would be my favorite. I fell in love with this couple long before they fell in love with each other. Rand and Will were opposites, but had enough in common to make them a perfect fit. They balanced each other perfectly. The chemistry was electrical and the sex was passionate, loving and hot as hell!!
I adored the storyline and I loved NYC as the backdrop. This was well written and it flowed so well. I couldn't put this down and I ate up the pages. I wanted the HEA, but not the end.
My review will never do justice to how much I loved this book or these characters, so I'm just going to stop now and say, I loved it and I highly recommend it!! Just go one click it!!!

Congrats and thanks for the post, and good review. The book sounds great. Fav opposites attract is such a common trope, and I've read many, so I'll just go to a recent one I especially liked, a great pirate historical - The Brethren, by W.A. Hoffman. - Purple Reader,

I cant think of one right now but I love opposites attract stories
ReplyDeleteI think my all time favorite is Strawberries For Dessert by Marie Sexton
ReplyDeleteI love May/Dec tropes but I like them all. One of my favorite enemies to lovers is Making Nice by Elizah J. Davis.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, "Strawberries for Dessert" by Marie Sexton, "Enlightenment Trilogy" by Joanna Chambers, are few of those I can remember.
ReplyDeleteAll for the games series by Nora Sakavic.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of much but on top of my head is Josh Lanyon's I Spy series between vastly different retired spy and a doctor.
ReplyDeleteThere aren't many tropes I don't like but my favs are Friends-to-lovers, Mpreg, Alpha/omega. Recently really been enjoying MMM and May/Dec reads.
ReplyDelete"Muscling Through" by JL Merrow
ReplyDeleteBlame it on the Mistletoe is one of my favs.
